We should stop and ask ourselves, have we as a whole really improved as much as we think we have? Sure, we have better medical technology and a better understanding of history and literature, but I'm talking about the social aspect of life. Specifically, prejudice against minorities such as people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, and different religions.
The USA has a travel ban against Muslims because they all supposedly are terrible people. Tanzania arrests gay men and gives anal exams without consent. 100 gay men in Russia have very recently been thrown into a concentration camp just for being who they are. In some places in the world homosexuality is punishable by death. And even though racism seems to be a rapidly dissipating issue, there are still separations between dark skinned and light skinned individuals. Do you see what I'm trying to say here? None of the events in this paragraph make any sense. It's time to change. It's 2017, not 1817!

PoetryBasically a beautiful mess of poetic and... erm, decidedly less so writing. Beware of the occasional full-on speech.
