Does nobody in my family ever see past appearances? Am I the only one? Does my dad ever think that there might be more than drugs causing that girl to walk weirdly down the sidewalk? Does my mom ever see past the tattoos decorating someone's skin? Can my family not see past the shaved side and dyed hair to the wonderful girl that is my friend? As much as my dad likes to lecture me about looking deeper, and as much as my mom supports my decisions in life, they never seem to take their own advice and look past outward appearances.
