I was getting ready to do this damned job. For the first time in a while, I was nervous and it pissed me off. 'Come on, you've been in prison, you've seen it all. Stop being a little b*tch.' In my hand, was a pistol. Its technical name was a FNX 45 tactical. Sitting on the barrel, was a suppressor. It was a little heavy in my hand but I could hold it just fine. I aimed at a target for a little practice. I put my finger on the trigger and fired. The bullet hit the red ring closest to the center. At least I still had someof my accuracy. There wasn't much recoil seeing as there was a suppressor on it. The strangest thing...was that the moment the bullet left the barrel and hit the target, it sent a rush through me. I felt like I was 14 again, being carefree.
I loved it.

We were in an SUV watching the target. I squirmed a little in the passengers seat. The wait had extended for over half an hour. The person in the driver's seat was a supervisor that my new boss sent to watch me, to make sure I actually did the job. I began to think rapidly. Why was I doing this again? Why did I get involved with this dude who literally came out of nowhere? There was a huge chance that I could go back to prison. But then again, I wasn't one to care about the law. I sighed inwardly. Ah, fuck it.
With that thought in mind, I slipped on my black mask and got out the SUV. I was dressed in a black hoodie, jeans, combat boots, and gloves. I flipped my hoodie over and followed the target as he maneuvered through the parking garage. Every turn he made, I eventually made seconds later. I was honestly trying my best to be stealthy. But unfortunately for me, life liked to screw me over. Some piece of crap car with poking parts caught my jeans as I passed by. I struggled to unhook the pants and finally, it left out a large rip that seemingly echoed throughout the garage. The target spun around and called out, nervousness apparent in his weak voice. "Who's there?" I froze, trying to figure out what to do next. I stayed silent as his eyes darted wildly around the garage.
He finally turned around and quickened his pace to his car. I tugged my pants free and followed him as he looked around cautiously.
As soon as he reached his car, I slammed his head against the window. The impact of the hit didn't break the glass. He groaned and slumped to the floor, holding his bruised head. He looked up at me, eyes wide with fear. I cocked my head at him. He was a man who overworked his employees but underpaid them. He even had pending sexual assault cases against him. The only reason why they still worked for him is because he blackmailed them into staying. Then he made the mistake of crossing my boss and trying to blackmail him too. But I wasn't here for that, weirdly enough. I pointed the gun at his head. He started to beg for his life.
"P-please don't kill me! I-I can pay w-whatever you want! Please!" I almost laughed as his pathetic attempts. I cocked the hammer. He heard it and his cries got more frantic. It was getting annoying.
"Look, shut the hell up." I ordered as I kicked him in the chest. "Where is the drive?" I gave him a second to regain air into his lungs.
"I-I don't know what you're-Ahhh fuck!" I shot his leg and bent down to his level.
"Don't play games with me, I don't have time for this. And neither do you." His leg oozed out dark blood. "Looks like you need medical attention pretty soon so, just give me what I want." He pointed to his strewn bag. I picked it up and tilted it over, emptying all the content out. A flash drive fell along with everything. I chuckled lowly.
"Thanks for the cooperation, sir." And I shot him in the head. His head pushed back at the force and hit the car. A trail of blood ran down his forehead and onto his white dress shirt. I picked up the shell casing and walked back to the SUV.
I had just killed someone for the second time. But thing is...unlike the first time, I didn't feel bad. The first guy was an accident. But this piece of crap deserved it. It was probably knowing these guys were scum that made it easier. I felt exhilarated. Hot adrenaline was pumping through my veins. All I wanted to do was more jobs.
I relaxed in the SUV as the babysitter(I decided that was his name for now) drove out of the parking garage. After 45 minutes of awkward silence, we stopped in front of a massive building and exited the car. Holy shit that's huge! The sitter directed me to the elevator. I stared at the floor as the elevator passed each level. When the elevator finally stopped, I looked up. The numbers at the top of the elevator indicated that we were on the 30th floor at the top of the building. The elevator doors opened and we stepped out. There was an office made out of glass directly across where we stood. Inside, sat the man that hired me. The sitter knocked on the door, grabbing the man's attention. My boss glanced at us and pressed a button. "Come in." The voice came from an intercom somewhere near. I looked around confused for a second until the sitter nudged me to enter first.
"Oh." I muttered dumbly. Boss motioned for me to sit. "Were you successful?" I nodded "Yes, sir." He looked at the man for confirmation. The man nodded. "Okay. Here you go as promised." He handed me an envelope that was considerably thicker than the last one. "In there is 50 grand. Do as you wish with it." And with that, he dismissed me.

When I reached the apartment building, I returned the gun and headed to my room. I decided to take a shower and eat. My stomach sounded like it could eat itself. After looking through different food services, I decided to walk to a diner that was 10 minutes away. The place looked sportsy. The lights were dimmed, giving a different vibe to the diner, and a pool table stood in a corner of the restaurant. A red bar lined the kitchen. There was a mix between table a booths. The booths lined the walls while the tables were scattered around the middle.I decided to take a booth. Being open like that gave me an uncomfortable feeling; the leftover sentiment from prison. Signs were plastered all around the room, mostly football team mascots. I glanced up and saw six TV's, each showing different sports: Basketball, soccer, baseball, UFC, even League of Legends, weirdly. After five minutes, a waitress approached me with a smile and handed me a menu. "Would you like to order a drink now?" She asked.
" Yeah. A water, please." She nodded while writing it down. She glanced at me for a second and I smiled politely. Her cheeks seemed to turn darker before she turned around and left. I took the time to look through the menu.
After a while of thinking, I decided on nachos and triple the meat burger. So, I like burgers. The waitress came back with my water. "Are you ready to order?" I told her my order and she left again. When I lifted my drink, there was a piece of paper folded underneath it. I opened it and scrawled neatly was a name and number. I looked up at the waitress across the room. She met my eyes and blushed. My lips tugged into a smirk before I stuffed the paper in my pocket. Twenty minutes later, she came back with my food.
I leaned back in my chair stuffed. The waitress (whose name I learned was Emma) returned with the check and I paid for my food. This restaurant will definitely see me here again.

The next day, the sitter drove me to a car dealership that my boss sent me to. He said I needed a car for the solo jobs and also so that sitter can stop driving me places. Apparently, all of these cars were free. After looking around for twenty minutes, I decided on the matte black mustang. It looked perfect for what I would be doing. And also, it was a sexy car. The car dealer approached and I told him that I wanted the Mustang. He showed me the paperwork and I signed them quickly. The dealer handed me the keys to the car and I grasped it excitedly. I knew how to drive from Andrew but clearly, I never got my license. As I sat in the car, I looked around at the interior. This looked so fucking cool. I'm definitely racing this. The new car scent made me smile and sigh, sinking into the seat. I put the key in the ignition and turned the car on. My new car let a nice purr as it came to life. I sped out of the dealership and let out a whoop of excitement as my car shot down the road.
"Holy shít!"
