I was bored out of my mind. It's been three months since I was called for a job. Right now, my body was upside down on my couch. I was trying to see how long I could stay hanging. Finally, I heard a knock on my door. I jumped up quickly and stumbled, the rush of blood going back to the rest of my body from my head made me dizzy."Woah, probably shouldn't have been doing that." I stumbled slowly to the door while rubbing my head and opened it. It was the baby-faced supervisor who accompanied me on my first mission. "Uh, what do you want?" I asked hesitantly.
"Mr. Grey requires you to train with me. If there's a contingency during a mission, you'll need to fight your way out." Hm. I didn't actually think of that. I was too busy thinking about shooting stuff.
"When do we begin?" The man looked at his watch.
"Now." I closed the door and shrugged on a black sleeveless shirt and black joggers. Baby face was waiting patiently when I came out.
"There's a gym beside the basement. We'll train there. Today, we are going to focus on punches and kicks." We reached the gym and he turned around.
"We're going to stretch and do some exercises before we begin." After about ten stretches and ten exercises, my body was loose and limb.
"Ok, we're going to work on your stance first. Try this stance." His legs formed a spaced out 'L'. I copied his movement and fell awkwardly on my ass. The man, whose name I learned was John, held back a snicker. I rolled my eyes, stood up, and fixed my stance. My lips tugged into a smirk when I perfected it.
"Good. Throw a punch at me." Was he serious? I highly doubt any punch from me can hurt him. He didn't have have to know that though.
"Are you sure? I mean, I throw a really good punch." He cocked an eyebrow.
"Well, try me." I threw a punch at his cheek and he stumbled back. He rubbed his cheek and smiled.
"Nice punch." I blew on my fist and kissed it. In the middle of my gloating, he reared back his fist and punched me in the stomach. The wind left my lungs, leaving me on the floor gasping. Well ow. After a while of moaning in pain, I stood up.
"That shit hurt, dude." He shrugged.

Grunting, I limped into my apartment. Never mind, I take back being bored. I exhaled slowly as I pulled myself towards the bathroom. John brought me four bags of ice. He told me to relax in my bathtub with the ice. After filling up the tub with cold water, I put the ice in. Fuck, this is gonna be too cold. I took a step in and yelped. Oh my God. I took another step in and slowly lowered my body into the water. This sucks, I thought as I sat there shivering. After a while, I got out and took a shower. My bed welcomed me as I jumped in it. Getting my phone, I turned on Netflix and made myself into a burrito with the sheets. I sighed. This is much better.

4 months later.I sent a roundhouse kick to John's head. He caught it and bent it to throw me. I elbowed him in the face and he released me. While he was stumbling back, I swung my foot and kicked his chest causing him to fall on his tailbone. I did a little victory dance. Hell yeah! He got up and patted my back.
"Good job. You're a fast learner. I think you're ready for a next hit." Finally, I was waiting forever. 'Exaggerate much?' Zip it, brain. We met up at his car and I was back at the office building. Grey gave me 10 grand again. "Finish the job and you'll get the rest." He told me.
So here I was, on the roof of a building watching the target through a sniper scope. Grey had supposedly given temporary access to the building as a picture on my phone. I pulled my mask over my face and flipped my hoodie on. I vaulted over the top of the building and rolled as I touched the next building. 'This is fun' I thought, with a mischievous smile. I leaped down the stairs and strolled through the door of the building. The only people around were security guards so there wasn't a risk of people seeing me. I pulled my weapon, two polished wooden sticks, out and got it ready. There was a guard by the door that led to the stairs. I whistled loudly and it seemed to have captured his attention.
"Hey! The building is closed to clientele." I could hear footsteps coming in my direction. The guard walked by me and I stood up behind him. This is too easy. One swing of the stiff wooden stick to the back of his head and the guy was knocked out cold. His eyes rolled back, his body slumping to the floor. I stepped over him and swiped my phone over the scanner. The light was red but when I scanned it, the light turned green. I felt like I was in 007. It took me 2 minutes to reach the target's floor and by the end, I was panting slightly. I'm glad I'm getting paid for this shit. Remind me why I didn't take the elevator? I peeked through the little window on the door and surprisingly a guard was standing on the other side. Think, fast! I knocked on the door and ducked when his head snapped in my direction. The guard opened the door and I timed my swing so the sticks slammed into his jaw, followed by another hit across the cheek. He dropped instantly. Damn I love these. I flexed my knuckles and continued my journey. I practically skipped to the door of the target's office. Pulling my gun out, I took off the safety and held it chest level. When I swiped my phone over the scanner, I quickly darted in. The man in the office jumped out of his seat. My gun was trained on him as I approached his desk.
"H-how did you get in here? Securi-"
"They can't hear you. It's just you and me." I smiled happily. He visibly gulped.
"What do you want? Money? That's no issue." I shook my head and cocked the hammer for effect. He closed his eyes and whimpered. A wet trail appeared to roll down his trousers. Ew. I looked up at his face.
"Where's the file you stole from Michael Grey?"
This man was a thief. He had hired contractors like me steal from his clients and, unfortunately for him, he stole from my boss.
"It's in the second drawer." He stuttered out.
I jerk the gun away from him. "Move." He clambered from the chair and scuffled to the corner of the room. Keeping my gun on him and approached the desk and began to search the drawer. When I found it, I smiled and turned to look at the cowering man.
"Looks like it's your unlucky day."
I didn't feel guilt as I pulled the trigger. I think there's something wrong with me. His body slumped over in the corner. Picking up the shell casing, I walked out of his office. This time, I used the elevator. The lift lowered as I waited patiently and checked my watch. I was supposed to be outside by 9:00 p.m. and it was 8:55 p.m. Right on time. I easily walked out the building and waited. Exactly at 9:00 p.m., the car rolled up. Inside the car, was John. I grinned at him and he gave a friendly smile in return. I opened the door and to my surprise, Grey was inside. I sat down slowly, unsure.
"You have done excellent so far. Soon you'll be doing more challenging hits and will get better pay. The money I am giving you is nothing compared to what you can get from other businessmen who want their enemies gone." He handed me a suitcase.
"There is fifty grand in there. Do what you will with it. I will call you with a next hit soon." I nodded.
"Yes sir." The car pulled up at my apartment.
"Oh and Alexa?" I turned around.
"Stay safe." And with that, the car drove off. I entered my apartment and turned on the tv.
Businessman murdered in office. Police are searching for suspects.
Oh look, I'm on tv.
