Chapter 1

I'm Danielle, I'm 14, & I just moved to Woodbridge, Virginia.

as most of you know Matthew Espinosa lives in this town. little did I know that we'd become bestfriends.

Chapter 1.

Monday morning, my mom shakes me awake. I realize it's not light out side, and check my phone. 5:30, in the morning.

'Mom! what the heck, why am I up so early?' As soon as the words escape my mouth, I slowly remember that today's the day we move from my home town Mustang, Oklahoma to Woodbridge, Virginia. I finally get to see the east coast.

My step dad Ryan, got transferred from his work base in OK, to VA.

My mom walked back to my door, 'we're leaving at 8. get up & get ready.' she walked away, and I heard her say the same thing to my sister Cheyenne, whose 15 in the room next to me, and then again to my little brother Chris. I do as I was told, got up finished packing. Since it was the first day of July I knew it would be hot, so I grabbed my favorite blue high wasted shorts, and black crop top from my now empty closet, and rushed to the bathroom. I jump in the shower quickly, trying to get ready as fast as I could.

I get out, blow dry my hair that's now down to my waist in length, just simply braid it cause we're going to be in a car for 24 hours so what was the point anyway.

I walk over to my sisters room, and open the door. Of course she's still asleep, so I decide I'll go into her bathroom and get some cold water in a cup.

I walk over to the side of the bed she's sleeping on, pour the freezing water on her face. She reacts quicker than I expected, and made me spill it all over her.

'WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT FOR?' she screamed. I leaned against her closet door laughing harder than ever. 'I-I had to w-wake' I can't breathe from laughing so hard. Once I finally calm down, and she was getting ready to get in the shower, I walk over to her and apologize. She's not too happy but she'll be alright later on. I mean we have to if I'm forced to sit next to her in a car for a whole day.

As I walk back in my room. my phone goes off. My bestfriend Libby, starts off a group chat with Carleigh, Hannah, and Destiny saying stuff like how much they'll miss me and everything.

Hannah; I can't believe our volleyball captain is leaving us in the middle of the season!

Carleigh; I know right hannah! We're gonna miss you so much boo.

Destiny; You have to visit us atleast once every two or three months!

Libby; I hope you like it there in Virginia. Make lots of friends, but don't forget about us. Any one would be blessed to be friends with you. Always remember we love you!

I reply with, 'Hannah, I don't want to leave ever! but I have too. I know Carleigh, I'm going to miss all of y'all so much too. I'll come visit as much as possible Des! Thanks Libby, I'm not too excited to make new friends, but I'll have y'all to talk to if it gets bumpy in the road. And I could never forget any of y'all. I love you all so much, never forget it!'

I hit the send button. And with that, I was in tears without realizing it, even though it was very difficult to type. They were my BEST friends. I didn't ever want to leave them. But I didn't have a choice, my mom was married to Ryan for 11 years now. He was so nice, and spoiled me and Chey, even though Chris was his only child. But he treated us both like we were his own. And it made me feel good, because I never got to meet my dad who left when I was three, and Chey was four.

I walk into the bathroom to see my eyes all puffy from crying. I didn't want anyone seeing me like this once again. so I wash my face, and put on some mascara and eyeliner. I walk over to my bed to get the sheets, and stuff together so I could take them downstairs to the car.
