Chapter 19

*Danielle's POV*

I don't know where the other boys room is so I follow Matthew down the hallway. He stops at a blue door with the number '449.' He knocks, and about four seconds later shawn opens the door. 'We're ready if you guys are.' Matthew says a little perky. 'Yeah, we're ready.' Taylor says from behind Shawn. 'Let's go!' Jacob yells from behind all of them. I started laughing because Jacob's always been a funny guy. And he's sweet and adorable, but I have Matthew. And Madi seems perfect for him. All of them pile out of the hotel room and make their way to the elevator. Matthew and I follow everyone in. He starts a conversation that didn't include me, about where the rest of the boys were. I turned to Madi, and Savannah. They were laughing and talking. I decided to be nice and ask where they were from. 'Iowa.' Madi says smiling. 'I'm from boring old Ohia.' Savannah said with a down look. 'Oh don't worry, I'm from Oklahoma but I just moved to Virgina. Right next to Matthew, that's how we met.' I say with a smile, as hands grab around my waste. 'Talkin' about me I see.' he says smirking. He jumps back, but one hand still rest on my hip. He pulls his phone out of his pocket, and answer it. 'Hello?' he says into the phone. I can't hear who or what they're saying because this abnoxious hotel elevator music. 'Oh okay, we're going out to eat at Carraba's. Come if you'd like.' he says a little calmer. 'Okay see you then.' he hangs up his phone and turns back to me. Everyone's silent. 'What? It was just Nash. Him and his girlfriend are meeting us there.' The elavator door opens as soon as he finishes him sentence. GIRLFRIEND?! Him and Carleigh are dating. Why the fuck wouldn't she tell me something this serious? What a great friend that is. I'm so caught up into thoughts, that Matthew has to pull me out of the elevator.

'What's gotten into you?' he asks me softly as we walk out of the lobby doors. 'Nothing, I just don't understand why Carleigh would keep a secret from me like that.' I say back. 'They said they both wanted to surprise you.' he says trying to calm me down. 'Okay, well let's just go' I say wanting to get off this subject. We jump in the limo, as everyone's waiting on us. The ride doesn't even seem that long, were there in about 10 minutes. Since Matt and I are the closest to the door we get out first, and I see Nash and Carleigh sitting on a bench, holding hands, waiting on us I guess. 'Hey you guys.' I say walking up to them. 'hey.' they chime in at the same time. Matthew walks up behind me grabbing me, resting his chin on my head. 'So, you guys.. 'official?'' Nash asks. Blushing, I nod my head. Matthew laughs at what he calls my 'cuteness,' and also shakes his head. 'What about you two?' I hear a voice from behind, Taylor. 'Um, yeah. We are.' Carleigh says smiling at me, then seeing my expression her eyes drop to the ground. I don't let it bother me because Matthew was here, I'd talk to her later. Madi, and Sav walk up to the bench. First Madi, then Savannah both introduce themselves to Carleigh. At first she just shook it off, then I kicked her in the foot. 'Hi, I'm Carleigh.' she says struggling to put a smile on her face. 'Can we eat? I'm starving.' I say loud enough for everyone to hear. 'Wow, someone's a fatass.' I hear Taylor mumble. 'Yeah, and she's mine too.' Matthew says loud enough to where only Taylor and I can hear.

He stomps forward to the front of the line, trying to get as far away from Matthew as possible. 'He likes you.' Matthew whispers in my ear as we make out way inside. 'I know. But that doesn't matter. Nothing is going to pull us apart.' I say kissing him, and catching up to the line. This place was packed, and I don't think that everyone would get a table together. But all the boys insisted on coming here so, we couldn't argue with them there. Everyone got a seat semi-close together, and we started to order. It was really hard to focus, considering there were 50 other conversations going on around us at the same time. Our waiter comes, and we order just a little because we still had a date after the meet and greet. I text Carleigh and tell her that we're going on a date after they finish, and for her to not worry. Matthew and I finish first, and Madi and Jacob quickly follow. We walk out to the limo since it was so loud inside, and start a conversation between the 4 of us. 'Take us to the hotel that were having the meet and greet.' Matthew says to the limo driver.

'How did you guys meet?' Jacob asked Matthew and I both. 'Well.' we both said at the same time. 'Go ahead.' he edges me on. 'Well, my step dad had to move to Virginia for his work, and my mom insisted that we come with him. So, we all came with him. My brother, sister, myself and my parents. And we just so happened to move in right next to him.' I finish smiling, his hand rests on my upper thigh. 'What about y'all?' Matthew asks.

'Well, I had a competition in Knoxville, and it just so happened that his sister also had one. At the same place, and time. He saw me, and came over to see if I was interested in going to dinner with him, and of course I said yes. Then we just started talking more and more, and he asked me to come support him at MagCon. And here we are.' She says smiling. Jacob holding her hand, and smiling also. All of a sudden there's a huge crashing sound. I feel myself launched to the ground, and all I remember seeing was a lifeless body next to me before my eyes fluttered closed.

*Two hours later*

*Matthew's POV*

beep. beep. beep. My eyes won't open, but I knew exactly where I was from the smell. Why? What happened to me? Where's Danielle?! I start to freak out, then realize I can't move. I feel two little hands holding my huge right one. It's Danielle, I can tell by the sound of her voice talking to the doctor. 'Do you know what happened?' She asks him. 'Well, there was a drunk driver, and you were passing through a green light. And the drunk driver slammed into the right side of the vehicle. And you, and three other people were found. We have Madi on a breathing machine, and Matthew's in a coma. You and Jacob have a few bruises, and scratches but y'all are healthy. Matthew on the other hand, were not sure if he's going to wake up.' He finishes speaking. 'Thank you.' I hear her choke out before I feel tears fall on my hands. I hear another familiar voice from the other side of the room. Carter. My bestfriend, why is he here. The meet and greet must have already started by now.

I hear Carter ask, 'What happened?' I could tell he's been crying, because the sound of his voice. Danielle picks up her head off of our hands. 'A drunk driver. A fucking dumbass almost killed him! Carter, he's my life. He saved my life before he ever knew who I was. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here right now. He's my hero, and I can't believe he could be gone.' she starts crying even more. Comfort her please Carter, hoping he'll know. As if he could hear inside my head, I feel her move. 'Shhhh, it's gonna be okay.' Carter soothes her. This is why I love him. But I have to wake up, I can't just leave Danielle here in this hell hole called a world. She needs me, and I need her.
