Chapter 21

*Matthew's POV*

-Late the next day-

There's someone next to me, small. It's Danielle, she's sleeping with me. How did I know it was her? My eyes, they're open. I can see! I look at the clock to see that it's 6pm already. Carter sits awake in the hospital chair across from my bed on his phone. 'Carter!' I whisper. His head jerks up. 'Who said that?' He whispers. 'Me.' I say back, trying to get him to recognize my voice. 'MATTHEW.' he yells louder than I'd planned. 'Shhhh, I want it to be a surprise when she wakes up!' 'Oh okay, my bad.' Carter says. 'So what happened, do you know?' I ask him wanting to know why my entire body hurts so bad.

Carter began, 'You four were in a car wreck on the way to the meet and greet, and your limo driver went through a green light, and a drunk driver hit the end of the limo where you guys were. Jacob and Danielle we're banged up, but you and Jacob's girlfriend Madi got the worst of it. Danielle hasn't left, she hasn't eaten, and this is the first time she's slept in a while. She was so scared that you weren't going to wake up. She cried in my arms for about 20 minutes, I knew you'd want me to.' he finishes. 'Thank you, for everything.' I replied. 'You're welcome, that's what bestfriends are for.' he says back. Carter's been there for me since day one, and I've been there for him. He's my bestfriend and I love him.

*Danielle's POV*

I woke up in the same position that I fell asleep. The sun shining bright, the clock read 8am. How long was I asleep? Matthew's hand now around my body, holding me. Had he woken up? Had he seen me here? Carter's awake on his phone, I look up. 'Has he woken up yet?' I ask. 'I don't know.' he replies, not looking up. I turn to Matthew. He's in a different position from when I fell asleep, so he had to have woken up. Why was Carter lying, did he want to see me in more pain. I just want to see him awake, and know that he's still here with me. 'Matthew.' I turn to see if he can hear me. 'Matthew, if you can hear, me show me.' I wait for about a minute. 'Baby, please.' I start crying again. I just want him to wake up, and we can be happy together.

I get up, and head to the bathroom. After I finished, I tell Jacob, who is awake and next to Madi that isn't conscious, that I was getting some food. I start walking down the hall, and make it to the elavator.

'Danielle!' I hear Carter, and Jacob both yell from behind me. I whip around and start running back to the room. 'What! What is it?!' I yell back. I make it back to the door, to see Matthew, eyes wide open, staring at me. 'Come here doofus.' he says with his arms out stretched expecting a hug. Tears falling from his eyes, and from mine. I start walking faster towards the bed. 'I missed you so much.' I choke out before sobbing into his shirt. 'I missed you more baby, but now I'm here.' he says struggling to hold the tears back. 'I thought I lost you..' I say looking into his eyes, and see I pain. The first time, ever. I kiss his lips, slowly. I missed this feeling more than anything. Almost 2 days without him was terrible. But I so glad that he was awake and with me. I don't know what I'd do without him.
