"Today, we will begin looking at both the musical and poetic structure of the 12-bar blues form, and try to analyze the use of the form in various landmark blues recordings," the teacher prattled on, as Patrick listened intensively. Before he could lift his pen to draw a chart in his notes however, another notebook was tossed carelessly onto his own.
Wtf I thought this class was gonna be fun
Patrick rolled his eyes, feigning frustration, although he couldn't help a small chuckle.
Pete, we've only been in this class for one day, and you're already complaining.
Patrick carefully lifted the notebook and placed it quietly on Pete's desk, hoping to avoid the teacher's attention.
Well when I signed up for history of rock I thought we'd listen to Green Day in class. I already analyze poetry all day now I have to analyze music too??
Pete tossed the notebook even louder this time, earning a glare from a student in front of them.
I think this class is very interesting AND fun, and besides, isn't finally getting to take a class with me fun enough? ;)
ha u wish >:D
For God's sakes, you're an English major, write like one!
dude we're passing notes to each other on ripped up paper not writing a grad thesis. besides aren't music majors supposed to be chill
This time, they both chuckled, louder this time, earning more hostile glares. The teacher continued his lecture, however, seemingly oblivious to the two friends.
Dude, you know even the engineer students think we're tense, haha. So are we still meeting Brendon after class?
yea he said he wanted us to meet him in the theater bldg. idk why tho. I think it has to with his thesis or some shit like that
That's cool. Fuck, I missed the whole slide on the 12-bar blues form!
dude you already drew half of it in your notes you clearly already knew it
Pete tried passing the notebook again, but this time, Patrick blocked him. Soon, his hand flew like a hummingbird as he tried to catch up to the professor, his face scrunching up and his tongue sticking out in the process. Pete knew this face, Patrick's infamous look of concentration. It was one of his cutest. It also meant that Pete would have no further luck in distracting his best friend.
In defeat, Pete began to write in his notebook. Rather than writing notes from the lecture though, he began to compose a new poem. Patrick, his eternal muse, just blessed him with another divine revelation.
