The clock read 5 p.m as Patrick, Pete, and Brendon sat in the audition room, deliberating over the results of the audition.

"So we're for sure not doing callbacks or anything?" Patrick asked.

"No, I think we got what we needed in auditions today," Brendon replied.

"Thank God," Pete groaned as he rubbed his eyes, "we've been here for six hours and I'm fucking exhausted. I couldn't imagine doing this another day."

"I think we got more than we needed, actually," Patrick said with a coy smile.

"God, 'Trick, you still hung up over the giraffe and that boy with the curls?" Pete asked.

"I can understand Dallon. What a gorgeous human being he is," Brendon sighed.

"They both are," Patrick said, "Also, I still can't believe that Joe showed up here, of all places. I thought I'd never see him again. Not to mention, he was almost as good as Dallon, which was super ho-"

"Joe! That's his name," Pete interrupted, "but let's get back to casting shit so we can go home already. What's your final decision on the main cast, Brendon?"

"Well, I mostly stuck to your suggestions, Pete. The role of Dylan will go to Dallon, the role of Brandon to Brendon, and the role of Mark to Joe. The only thing is, I still don't have people for the roles of Vaughn and Lewis."

"You don't think anyone else we saw today could fit those roles?" Patrick asked.

"God no, everyone else sucked. I barely want to put those people in the supporting cast as it is, but Vaughn is the lead role, and Lewis is the narrator. I'm sure as hell not giving them those roles."

"Well," Pete began shyly, his face contorting with hesitation, "for Vaughn, I was kind of thinking of Patrick for that role."

"Me?" Patrick asked in disbelief.

"That actually makes a lot of sense," Brendon said, "I mean you are in choir and you take voice lessons, so you've got the singing down. Do you have acting experience?"

"Well, I mean, yeah, I did take acting class and I was in a musical and a play," Patrick said hesitantly, "but definitely not enough to play a lead role. I couldn't do that."

"Why not? You'd be perfect, 'Trick?" Pete said, giving him a soft smile, as Brendon nodded in agreement.

"Well, I mean, I guess I could..."

"It's settled then!" Brendon declared, "and now for the narrator. Actually, I think you could do it, Pete. You seem to fit that character the most. There isn't much singing for that part, so you don't have to worry about that."

"You kidding me? I don't have any acting experience. I really doubt I could do a lead role."

"Come on, Pete. You basically wrote this part for you. And, isn't Lewis your middle name?" Brendon asked suspiciously.

"Uh- no comment."

"Great, you're Lewis then. Alright, well that's it! The main cast is set. We can work on the supporting cast tomorrow, but I think we should call it a day. Thank you so much guys, I really appreciate you doing this for me," Brendon said, turning to Patrick and an empty chair. The door to the room slammed shut, and he could see Pete's figure running down the hall.

"Fucking Pete," Patrick laughed.
