His eyes turned away before finally fixing on them. A Cheshire smile slowly tugged on his lips.

"Well... I'm afraid I have to."

"Wh-"

Severus was interrupted by the man's staff suddenly being whipped in front of them. "You don't understand how much I want those Fortis Viribi powers, witch. I can't sleep at night thinking about how powerful I can be... You'll understand..." he whispered hungrily as Scarlet noticed his pupils dilate. Her eyes glowed purple back at him, and the man was beginning to lose control over himself.

"Scarlet, run!" Severus shouted to her. She grabbed his wrist and pulled him with her. They were running again, but a lot faster than earlier.

Scarlet was struggling to find her wand in her robes after Severus pulled out his, until they stopped running. "Where is he?" Scarlet asked, looking at him frighteningly. "We... We need to hide somewhere. The grounds will be alarmed if we Apparate, but I'm... too... tired right now... I'm sorry."

"It's okay, Sev darling, we just-..."

"You think you can run away from a wizard like me?" the man caught up. He stepped out behind the tree and was murmuring a... a song. An incantation. His staff was shuddering as though there was something inside wanting to get out so badly. He held onto it with a tight grip, and Scarlet began to notice how desperate he was, because of the veins now showing at the back of his hand.

They both could hear his song. Their feet automatically started to back away and the stranger's staff was shaking intensely already.

"Olvidar... Vergessen... Poina... Vergeten... Glemme... Lupa... Obliviscatur... Scarlet Carter... Kalimutan..."

"Expelliarmus!" The Disarming spell didn't work. The two looked at each other worriedly. "My staff is immune to stupid spells like yours from the Wizarding World, fool. No need to try aiming anymore, or an Unforgivable might backfire..."

"Argh!" Scarlet grabbed the stranger's shoulders and climbed on his back hurriedly as he stumbled backwards. She gripped onto him then began to set flames onto his body like wildfire. "Ow! Get the fu-!"

"Sev, do something!" Severus looked at her. "I can't leave you with him!"

"Please! Run! Alarm the castle! I'll handle him off!"

"You wench!" the stranger bellowed. His bony arms lifted the witch with ease as he threw her to a nearby tree. Thump. She landed to the ground with blood seeping from her lips.

"You want to make this thing more difficult?! Fine! Make the seconds longer! When my spell's finish, it's as if you've never existed! You'll forget yourself and those powers are... dead... mine!"

The staff now had a blinding green glow. He brought it close to his lips and murmured more words.

"Scarlet... we-we're cornered... I'm... I'm sorry..." Severus whispered to her while stretching an arm to block her. "Don't be sorry, Severus. It's alright."  "No. It isn't, darling. And we'll make a way. I promise."

"Professor Carter! Professor Snape!" voices shouted.

"Goddammit! You had to make things difficult, have you!" It seemed like a storm was coming. The wind was roaring and the tall tree's leaves shook angrily. Severus held Scarlet for her to stand up, wearing one of his murderous glares.

"Professor Snape! Professor Carter!"

"I'll make things quick then."
