Part Twenty-Three: Disaster Struck

Adrien walked across the streets alone in the noon. He stopped when something caught his eye. Turning to witness, he saw a necklace. It was very pretty. It sorta made him thought of Marinette because she was pretty.

He had the urge to enter the store and buy it, harboring it in a small case, as small as a ring or a watch's case. He sighed and went to an alley to rest. School was hard these days. Exams are coming up and they still had two months to go to surpass the Guardians.

He heaved out a deep sigh and looked down at the case. He wanted to give it to her but that's easier said than done. "Ohoho! Is that a present for the lovely wife?" Renz appeared beside him out of nowhere which startled him.

"Gah! Dude, don't scare me like that!"

Thus, Renz chuckled who rested his palm against the wall. He smirked and teasingly asked, "You're not thinkin' about somethin' like I went to the trouble of getting it but I'm unable give it to her! What'll I do?" He laughed. "Does that sum it up, kid?"

"Sh-Shut up!"

"Y'know, you're lucky that Feidge isn't the one guarding you or else if he found out you were missin', he'd spank you in the head." He folded his arms and crooked his back, tipping himself at Adrien. "So tell me~! Don't you know how hard it is to find one person, especially if you had an amnesia?"

"How about you? Do you even remember my name?" Adrien rolled his eyes as he told him.

"THAT I remember. But I can't remember your face properly, sooo.." A flash made Adrien shield his eyes. Renzelf was picturing him with his phone. "Aaand saved!"

"Hey, uhh..Renz? Cut it out!"

"But hey, you gotta tell me.. Who are you REALLY giving to?"

Adrien scrunched his brows in confusion. "Who else? Marinette. Who else could it be?"

Renz suddenly disappeared out of impressive speed and peeped beside Adrien, resting his back against the wall in surprise which startled the young man again. "Well, how about that Lila girl?" He raised a brow yet looked a teenager's ashamed face of being grounded, despite that he's already in his twenties but he DOES look younger than his actual age and so is Feidge. "You haven't apologized to her about rejecting her courtship. If she gets akumatized--"

"Wait. How do you know about Lila?"

"Leo..uhh, the Lion, correct? He told me." It was a surprise that he knew his name even though Leo introduced himself properly just five minutes ago.

"That aside, would you leave me alone?" Adrien shoved the case inside his pocket. Once he glanced at Renz, he saw the darkness in his eyes which made him shudder in fear. Renz's mass murdering side has come back.

"Denied. Our job is to escort both Twin Hearts to the Council safely, with us with you two. Would you like to die? If you want space so much then probably I'll just leave you alone but what happens if you..get robbed? Ran into an accident? Fell into a pit where you can never go back to the surface? Die? Drown in the sea? Get eaten by a monster? Earthquake? Tsunami? The world ending? It may be impossible but I have a ways to save someone. It's all planned."

"Ugh. Fine. Just give me a chance to get to Marinette. I'll give this to her, with us, alone. We need privacy, dude. I'm sure you understand since you're a grown-up." Renz thought about it for a second and nodded in approval. "Thanks." Adrien softly said before heading to the park where Marinette or Feidge could possibly be.

"Renz, Brother, I'm sorry I'm late!" Feidge, in his lawsuit which is his dailywear outfit, same with Renz, peeped behind Renz out of the blue. He wheezed as he was in a crooked position. "I was in a hurry and--" He got cutted off by Renz punching him in the cheek in a swift motion. Feidge skid himself on the ground roughly.
