It was the first day of middle school. I walked over to where she stood talking to a new girl.
"Hey Sara so how were your vacations? Did you go somewhere new?" I said utterly delighted at seeing her after the long summer break. She completely ignored that but me being the naive girl that I was thought she hadn't heard. "Hey Sara!" I said again "How were the holidays?"
"Can't you take a hint? She isn't talking to you anymore." Scoffed the new girl "Pretty dim isn't she or is it he?" she said laughing.
"Hey mind your tongue understand." I said while clenching my fists and glaring daggers at her.
"Shove off man hands!" Sara cried "Come on Stacy. We'll get seats next to each other." And with that she smiled at her companion and looked at me, turned her nose up in the air and with a final humph she brought an end to six years of friendship.
That day I found myself utterly alone. She had had her fun and now was with a friend who didn't need her as desperately as I did. She had found an equal and I was left all alone. I had fought everyone for her and she just up and left me.
