Sara folded up the letter once more with tears swimming in her eyes. It had been ten years since she had lost Dawn on that operation table. The operation that was going to give life to her legs had rendered her lifeless. Sara had bested cancer with her help eleven years ago and she felt her throat constrict every time she thought of her inability to help her best friend the same way she had. She wiped away the tears which had run down her cheeks and looked out the unbarred bay window and saw her five year old daughter in the garden below. "I miss you Dawn." she said to herself, tears clouding her eyes "And look at your god daughter, she laughs just like you. I promised you that I will fight and that I will live. See I am. But if you were here it would.....but never mind that I don't have a time turner now do I. I do hope you are seeing this, your god daughter, my husband and me. I hope you are seeing this Dawn. You said you will always be with me, right? I know you are still here." she said while closing her eyes and clutching the heart where her friend will always stay.

"Mama! Come down already!" screamed the five years old from the garden.

"Coming Dawn!" said Sara to her daughter while tucking away the letter in her best friend's favourite book.

It may have been ten years since the two friends were separated but with a love like theirs even death couldn't do them part.

The end.
