I arrive 5 minutes early and I see Alfie sitting there waiting for me, he stands up and I see he's already wearing his skates. I hands me a pare and grabs my hand. We skate for an hour and then we sit down to each have a burger. We sit, and eat and talk when a thought pops into my head, "hey do you trust me enough to follow me into the mountains?" I say out of the blue, "I guess," he says and I stand up, grab his hand and pull him out into the humid night air. On the bus, we don't talk, I can't believe I'm finally gonna do this and I think he's just scared of what's gonna happen next. When we arrive I ask, "hey what time is it?" And he says that it's 9:00, I then grab his hand and we hike up into the mountains.
When we arrive, it's pitch dark, but I can slightly see Alfie and my feet walking and being careful not to fall between the rails. We sit down and let our legs dangle down over the edge of my abandoned train track. I feel a tear roll down my cheek not realizing that Alfie can see me. He wipes the tear off my face.
"Are you ok?" He asks,
"Yeah,"
"No your not,"
"Ok, well the thing is this isn't me,"
"I know, I've been dating you, but I still need to get to know who you really are,"
"No," I say as I rub off some of my makeup with my tears.
"This isn't me either," he says,
"What?"
"Well before I came into high school, I was dorky and immature, and I really like video games, but I was really happy,"
"No way, that was like literally me," I say starting to laugh threw my tears, he starts to laugh to and I can't he'll but smile.
"I decided to reinvent myself the summer before high school, and I've seen how you've changed over the year," he says
"Really?"
"Definitely,"
Alfie grabs a water bottle out of his and wets the bottom of his shirt. "Do you mind?" He asks, "not at all," I say as he starts to run off my makeup with his wet shirt. I can feel that there are still stains on my face, be I feel better than I ever have, and suddenly, I can feel Alfie's lips against mine, and even though I've never kissed a guy before and I don't know what to do, I want this moment to last forever.
