"Apolo!" I yelled out his name when I saw him about to get into his car. "Apolo!!!"
He stopped and turned around. "Kira! What's... What's going on?"
"Apolo... You gotta help me... JR, I don't know, someone wants to frame him with his dope test... I don't know the name of the, of the person, but I... I'm not lying."
My chest was heaving up and down.
"You have to warn him. Please. His mom didn't believe me, I can't talk to him right now cuz he needs to concentrate on his race tomorrow on Tuesday..."
Apolo gently grabbed my hands and put them at my sides. I am a very expressive person, so I tend to use my hands to describe things.
"Wait... Why don't you calm down and tell me what's going on?"
I quickly explained to him my encounter overhearing Gretchen telling a fellow speed skater to slip something into JR's drink.
"I'll see what I can do," Apolo replied firmly after I told him everything. "Well, I gotta go. See ya, Kira."
"See ya," I said weakly.
As he drove off, a sharp stab of pain shot through my body. Suddenly, I felt as though all of my energy was draining from me. I felt dehydrated, dizzy, disoriented... Like I was dying. What's going on?!
I felt like i was going to collapse onto oncoming traffic. I swayed back and forth and I heard someone scream my name. Then the blackness consumed me.
