IN THE HEIGHTS

Ship - Benny x Nina (coz I haven't done that yet) This is just some extended dialogue for Nina and Benny that would happen at the club.

"What the hell is your problem?" She yelled at him, chasing him through the crowds of people.

"My problem?! Nina, I've lost my job so that you can piss off back to California!"

"I didn't ask my dad to do it, you were there!"

"Yeah? Yeah?! Well, maybe if you hadn't've lost the goddam scholarship in the first place then we'd all be happy!"

She stopped still, glaring at him.

"So it's my fault.." she said quietly, he barely heard her over the noise and the music. "So if I'd've been able to work 2 jobs and study and go to college then you'd still be happy.."

He looked back at her, now processing what they'd both said.

"I'm gonna get a drink.." he groaned, heading over to the bar. She took a moment but eventually stormed after him.

"I don't know what you wanted me to do about it, Benny!"

"Get your ass on the phone to your parents and tell them why your grades are slacking!"

Now it was Nina's turn to groan.

"You make it sound like my parents would understand..."

"They'd help you, you're their daughter."

"No, Benny.." she sighed. "They'd send money, that's not helping, that's doing it for me. You must know me well enough to know I wouldn't accept it..."

He rolled his eyes.

"Nina, you have to just learn that you can't do everything by yourself! You have to learn to accept help!"

"I can't! What if I don't want to!? No one ever thinks about what I want!"

"Excuse me?!" He scowled. "Everyone thinks about what you want! Hell, it's all I think about, Nina!" She looked taken aback.

"Why do you care all of a sudden?!"

"Why do I care?!" He scanned her face quickly, making a split second decision.

He kissed her.

"You need to learn to accept the love others give to you..."

She kissed him.
