Hopeless

2 Steps Behind...

(This is cats POV)

I woke up in my office chair not knowing how I get here I remember going home last and sleeping in my bed. I got out of my chair and grabbed coffee from the front lobby. Gale was sitting there working on spreadsheets.

"Hey cat" Gale said. "Hey gale do you know if the chief is here" I said yawning. "Yes he is in his office working on a crime scene that nobody knows about" Gale said. "I know about it but yet its still private" I said walking towards the chiefs door. "Hey mabey we can go to lunch together" Gale said. "Sure why not" I said.

I walked to the chiefs office door and knocked.

"Come in" he said. "Did we find more out or no" I said. "No the proffeser is still working on her stuff" he said. "OK I will go check with him to see how he's doing" I said. "Ok" he said.

I walked down to the lab and the proffeser was running up. He stopped in front of me and started panting. He handed me a file and I looked in it.

We found her location.

I ran to the chiefs office hoping he was still there. I ran in the door looking at him smiling and handed him the file. His eyes got huge he picked up the phone and called the F.B.I, police, fire trucks, ambulance, everything to go to this location. I ran out to my car and the proffeser hopped in with me we were speechless. We drove to the adress and waited for everybody else.

"Get everybody set up" The chief yelled. "I'm going in" I said. "Fine with me but get ready" chief said.

I got ready to run in and look for Emily. We ran inside and looked in evey room in the first hall. We found 16 girls in rooms but not emily. I walked down the hall and heard giys yalking it sounded like 3 to 4 guys. they were talking about transport. I walked in and the guys kneeled down instantly. I handcuffed them and they just started laughing.

"Where is Emily" I said. "No where you need to know" Jake said. "Tell me now or I'll kill you" I said. "We are killing nobody" chief said. "Why" Jake said. "Because were police and we dont kill for no reason" Chief said. "He won't tell me were Emily is" I said. "We don't kill" Chief said. "But you should" Jake said

We walked him to the F.B.I truck and threw him in the back. I walked back inside and saw girls lined up and getting checked out to see if there ok. All the girls were crying and full of blood and thanking us for saving them. One girl was curled up in the corner and crying she must've been 12. Her eyes were full of fear and her body was all blood and dirt. I felt bad for her we found everybody in the building.

We grabbed the girls and put them in hospital beds and cleaned them up the best we could. The 12 year old fell to the floor throwing up and having a ceziuer. We tried to to stop her and calm her down but her heart rate stopped we all stood in silence. I started to cry noticing a lifeless 12 year old lying on the floor. I'm so fucking pissed and these people they will be killed no matter what they deserve it. I walked to my car and looked at the time it was 8:30. I drove home and walked in and it was pitch black. I turned the lights on taking off my jacket and set my files down. The boys were out cold in the living room I decided to leave them there. I went upstairs to my room and changed. My phone started buzzing. I looked at it and it was ringing. I picked it up.

     "Hello" I said. "Is this Agent cat also known as Taylor" He said. "Um yes this is why" I said. "Remember when you thought you were 1 step ahead" he said. "Yes" I said. "Well now your 2 steps behind by the time you find Emily she's gonna be lifeless" He said. "IM AN AGENT I WILL TRACK YOU DOWN AND MURDER YOU" I said. "Good luck bitch" He said hanging up the phone.

     I slammed my phone on the nightstand and I grabbed my hair from the too and started to sweat. My heart started to race thinking about Emily and how much danger she's in.
I started to cry and later I fell asleep crying myself to sleep.
