"Tuno Hicachi, I promise to protect you and love you for the rest of our life together. Will you please marry me?" Yukio asked.

My heart started beating faster.

"Say something, Mama!" Yuki shouted.

"You can't leave Papa hanging, Mama!" Shiro snapped.

"Didn't I say be quiet?" Yukio asked, looking at them.

I got on my knees, and he looked at me. He smiled when I got closer to him.

"Is this a sign for yes?" He asked.

I placed my hand on his neck and kissed him. His arms locked around me. I pulled away and looked at Yuki and Shiro.

"Go play in the backyard." I ordered.

"Don't hit Yuki with that sword either." Yukio added.

They both got to their feet and ran from the room. I smiled when I heard the back door close. Yukio chuckled and played with my hair.

"Do you want to wear the ring now, or will you put it on later?" He asked.

"I'm busy right now."

I pushed him back, and he collapsed onto the floor. I sat on top of him and pinned his arms to the floor.

"I still can't believe you named one of them after Father Fujimoto." He said.

"One of them has your name, too."

I instantly froze when I heard one of the boys scream. I scrambled to my feet and ran to the backyard.

"Let him go!" Shiro growled, swinging his wooden sword at a large bird Demon.

Yuki hung unconscious from the bird's talons. I jumped in front of Shiro when a second bird showed up.

"No one hurts my sons and gets away with it!" I growled.

My Demon tail slowly appeared, and my ears started to sharpen to a point. They grew out, and my nails turned to claws. My teeth sharpened into fangs.

"Shiro! Come here!" Yukio ordered.

"But what about Mom and Yuki?" The boy asked.

"Go inside, Shiro. Don't come out." I ordered.

I heard his footsteps as he ran to Yukio. I smirked at the birds and held my arms out to the side.

"Come and get me!" I hissed.

The bird holding Yuki dropped him. Covu appeared and caught my son. I yowled as loud as I could. The birds came straight at me. I crossed my arms in front of my face, and I held back my screams when their sharp talons dug into my skin.

"Shiro! Get back here!" Yukio screamed.

The birds pushed me to the ground. I gasped when something collided with the closest one, making it fly back. The other screeched and focused on its new target. I sat up and saw a flash of dark blue. Before I could blink, both birds were gone.

Shiro stood in front of me, dark blue flames coming off of his body. He had a tail and long pointed ears.

"Are you okay, Mama?" He asked.

He stumbled toward me. I caught him in my arms when he fell. His flames disappeared, and his long pointed ears shrank to their normal size.

"Will Yuki be okay?" He asked.

"Shh. Don't worry about Yuki. Daddy is taking care of him. You did great, Shiro. Get some rest." I whispered.

I got to my feet, keeping him in my arms. I looked at Yukio. He was with Yuki. He looked at me, and I could see pain in his eyes.

"Go put him in his bed. I'll work on Yuki." He whispered.
