The Note

A few months had passed since Ethan and Grayson left for LA and I still thought about them everyday. More Ethan than Grayson obviously.

I wondered what he was doing. If he's was happy or sad.

The only time I ever saw him was on Tuesdays...on YouTube and he seemed very happy with his new life.

Then two more months passed.

I texted Grayson for a while but then it fizzled out.

I don't watch their videos as often as I used too and I rarely think about him anymore.

I will occasionally think I wonder what Ethan's up to? But not in the I-miss-him way.

Today was the last day of school and thank God for that.

I was free until next year that is.

"Hey (y/n) we are going to go to the mall after school. You coming?" My friend asked me by the lockers

"Yeah I don't think so." I said

"I'll buy you a Slushie!!" She said smirking

I shut my locker "on second thought yeah I'll go."

She laughed.

Grayson's POV

It's been six months since we left and Ethan hasn't talked about (y/n) for awhile...that is not when he is awake.

He says her name in his sleep a lot but I don't know if he knows he does.

Today was the day that I was going to give him that note.

"Hey Ethan!" I said walking into the kitchen.

"Hey bro! Want some pancakes?"

"Yes!"

I held the note behind my back and when he wasn't looking I dropped it on the floor right beside him.

"Hey Ethan I think you dropped something."

He looked around and saw the photo.

"Oh my gosh." He said.

"What? What is it?"

"It's photo of us. Me and (y/n). I don't remember packing this."

He turned it around and saw the note.

Ethan, I know I said I didn't love you. How you were a waste of my time but I wanted to tell you that was not true. I love you with all my heart and I lied to you so you would leave to be happy. You are my everything and I would never want you to be miserable because you never left New Jersey and I wasn't going to let that happen. At this moment it has been a while since I wrote this but I love you and I hope you are having a great time in LA. Love, (Y/N)

"Ethan? Are you okay buddy."

"Did you know she was lying?"

He was crying and very angry

"Yes but I can explain!"

"Oh screw you Grayson! Why didn't you tell me she was lying!!?"

"Because she told me not to. Not until you were happy with your new life."

"But for all I know she could've forgotten all about me and that's your fault!"

"No it's not don't blame this on me! I'm just the messenger."

He put his hand on his head.

"Sorry I don't know what got into me. It's just why would she do this to me?"

"Because she loves you."

He grabbed his car keys and left.

"Ethan!" I yelled.

Ethan's POV

I have to go see her.

I drove to the airport and got a flight to New Jersey.

When I got there I bought a rental car and drove straight to her house.

I knocked on her door.

"Hello...Ethan what are you doing here?" (Y/n)'s mom said.

"Hi! Where's (y/n)?"

"Oh she's at the mall bu-"

I cut her off and ran back to my car.

I drove as fast as I was able.

I walked into the mall to try and find her.

Your POV

"So what's the difference between slushies and Icees?" My friend asked

"Well slushies are icey and icees are soft."

"Shouldn't it be the other way around?"

"I don't-"

"Wait is that Ethan?"

"What!? Where?"

She pointed him out and I saw him just walking around aimlessly like he was looking for something.

He looked my way and started to walk up to me.

"Quick act like you didn't see him and walk away." I said as I pulled my friends arm.

"Wh-okay!"

We walked into a store.

"What was that for?" She asked

"Why is he here?"

"I don't-"

"(Y/n)!"

I turned around it was Ethan.

"Ethan-"

He pulled me into his arms and kissed me.

I was surprised but I kissed him back.

"Thank you." He said

"For what?" I asked holding onto his waist

He took the note out of his pocket.

I looked up at him "you read my note?"

"That's why I came back here. I love you (y/n)! I know you thought I would've moved on...but I haven't."

"I haven't moved on either Ethan...I love you but you live in LA and I live here it's not going to work out."

A smile creeped up on his face

"Move to LA with us!"

"I can't I have school. And-"

"Okay then stay for the summer!"

"Really?"

"Yeah That would amazing." He grabbed my waist "we could walk on the beach and have bonfires and I can teach you to surf."

It sounded amazing. The whole summer spending time with the guy I love. How could I say no!?

My friend pushed us apart

"Okay that sounds great and all but you remember that person named 'mom'? She would never let you go."

"Yeah you're right. I can't go."

"Well maybe we could convince her." Ethan said.

"Convince her how?"

"I have a plan."

I don't know whether I should be excited or nervous for that.
