Chapter 2

Song of the Chapter: Animals by Martin Garrix

~~Rachel's POV~~

"And this is Jeffrey, Preston, Anthony, and Jayden," Justin said, pointing at each individual in the car starting at the kid next to him and ending at the driver.

"Call me Jeff," Jeffrey said reaching a hand out to shake mine. I obliged.

"Yea and call me Tony," Anthony said from in front of me. He was the one who had called shotgun back at the club.

"Well what's your name?" Justin asked.

"Rachel. Rachel Stevens," I said mocking him.

"How's your face?" Justin asked pulling on my chin so that I faced him.

As the car passed lamp posts on the side of the road, the car would light up long enough for me to notice one new thing about his face. Like his cute button nose, his plump lips that looked moist and kissable, his long eyelashes, his eyebrows... and his eyes.

At the club I noticed his eye color and the way they screamed anger toward Tyler, but right here in this moment, they were soft. His eyes had a sparkle to them that made me get lost. I felt like I was falling into them. I felt... safe.

I have a strict "don't show your emotions in front of strangers" policy. But with Justin I felt like I had known him for all of my life, even though, all I really knew was his name. He made me feel so safe that I couldn't stop the tears that surfaced my eyes. My face really did hurt from Tyler slapping me and my shoulder hurt from when he pulled me. I was also really scared. I never showed it to Tyler, but he frightened me.

"Don't cry. It's gonna be okay," Justin said. He looked confused and unsure as he reached up to my cheek and rubbed away the tears. There was warmth in his voice and eyes for a short moment, but it quickly vanished.

He grabbed his iPhone from his pocket and turned on the flashlight. The light scanned my cheek and then went down to my shoulder. I felt Justin's cold fingertips touch the skin and I flinched.

"You have a couple bruises but you should be fine. I have some Advil at the house. You should take 2 when we get there for the pain," Justin explained.

"You see that?" Jayden asked nodding his head toward the rear view mirror. Tony turned and peered out the back window.

"That red car was in the parking lot at the club," Tony said.

Justin was staring at me intently, as if he were studying me. He seemed confused about me.

Jeff and Preston also turned around, and looked out the back window. The sparkle in Justin's eyes disappeared and it was replaced by that anger that was there in the club.

"Who is it?" he asked coldly.

"Not sure," Jayden responded, continuing faster down the road.

"Wait... did you say a red car?" I asked.

"Yea. Why, do you know someone with a red car?" Jayden asked.

"Tyler has a red car," I said turning around, "and that's it. He's following us."

"Tyler your boyfriend? The douche from the club?" Justin asked, tightening his grip on my waist.

I nodded my head, feeling more scared then ever.

"Are you scared of him?" Justin asked as he noticed me shaking.

I nodded.

"Has he done this before?" Justin asked. He wanted more information. He wanted to know everything possible about me, Tyler, and our relationship.
