Gaara x Reader Part One

*Younger Gaara before chunin exams, so you are about the same age as him*
Third Person Pov.

You were walking around the sand village to clear your mind and relax. You were walking by the park when you heard crying. You looked over and saw some kids making fun of Gaara. He just so happened to be your crush. He was currently on the ground, with his hands on his head, crying. You walked over to them and said to the other kids, "Hey! Leave him alone!" You were one of the stronger young ninjas, so they quickly ran off. You kneeled down to Garra's level and hugged him. He flinched a bit, and stayed stiffly in that spot for a moment, before relaxing into the hug. You released your hold on him at gently rested your hand on his cheek, causing him to look up, into your eyes. He said to you in a bit of a raspy voice, "W-why did you help me?" You answered him, "Because you don't deserve to be treated like that. You deserve to be loved." You gave him a close-eyed smile. His eyes widened slightly and he blushed a bit. He gave you a small smile in return. You got up and so did he. You decided to walk over to the swings and hop on one. He hesitantly followed you and got on one himself. You giggled slightly and started to swing, saying to him, "I hope we can play together more after today!" His eyes widened again and he nodded his head saying, "Y-yes, I would l-like that." You two stayed like that for a while, swinging next to each other, in a comfortable silence. After a while  you and him got a bit tired so you both decided  (mostly you) to lay in a sandy area and watch the clouds. You slowly got closer to him and rested you head on his shoulder  (whilst laying down). He was a little stiff at first, but he got used to it, and was enjoying it. "Hey Gaara," You whispered to him, "There's something I would like to tell you." You sat up, and as did he. Gaara let out a sad hm, worried that you would say you hated him, or that he was a monster. You gently put your hand over his. You avoided all eye contact with him and said, "I like you! A lot! And more than a friend!" His eyes widened and a dark blush was evident on his face. He whispered quietly, with a slight hoarseness in his voice, "I feel the s-same." You blushed also. You hugged him a bit tightly and he hesitated a bit but then slowly returned the gesture. You stayed that way for a moment before a voice called your name, telling you to come home. You reluctantly got up, but before you left you said to him, "I hope we can play together again soon!" You kissed him where the kanji was on his forehead, and ran off. Sadly, when you went home your grandmother (who took care of you) informed you that you had to move to the leaf village. You didn't get to tell Gaara goodbye. The day you and your grandmother were walking out of the gates, he saw you. You gave him a sad look and he did he same. As you left, you mouthed to him, 'I love you.'
