Picture of Alison's car on the top!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After about a 12 hour plane ride, we finally got off and we were headed to see our new house. Since the house is in England, we couldn't fly out and take a look at it so my father just hoped that it would be nice and in a good neighborhood.After about 30 more minutes of driving, my father pulled into a driveway with a baby blue convertible mustang already waiting there.
"Dad, whose car is that in the driveway? Are we at the right house?" I asked curiously.
My father shook his head with a light chuckle before he replied, "That's your car Alison. Of course, you'll take your sister to school with you in the mornings and take her some places, but I trust you will be responsible with it."
I thanked my father before we all got out of the car and I hugged him, almost knocking him on the ground. "Thank you dad! I love it! How did you know that this was my dream car?" I asked as my father let out a sigh of relief.
"It was just a lucky guess."
A little bit after we had gotten to the house I was getting bored of unpacking, so I thought I would do a little exploring and test drive my new car. Considering it was a nice day outside I changed into some denim short shorts with a grey v-neck shirt and slipped into my sandals. I grabbed my sunglasses and iPhone from my nightstand next to my bed and headed downstairs.
I walked into the living room to see my dad sleeping on the couch. I looked around to see if I could find the car keys. After about 3 minutes of searching the living room, I decided I would look in the kitchen to see if they were in there. I went into the kitchen, careful not to make any loud noises that would wake my father up, and saw a note on the table.
Alison:
Just in case I fell asleep or something and you wanted to drive your car around I put your car keys on the stand next to the front door. Be careful. Love you
-Dad
Of course that's where he would put the keys. Why didn't I look there? I crumpled up the note and threw it in the trash before getting out a notepad and a pen.
Dad:
I should have known you would put the keys there. I got tired of unpacking so I decided that I would take my new car out for a test drive and explore England a little bit. Thank you so much for the car! Love you more dad
-Alison
I put the pen back in the drawer before slowly making my way to the front door. I grabbed the keys from the table and made my way to the car. When I opened up the door I instantly got a whiff of the new car smell that I love so much. I started the car and rolled the top of the hood down so I could feel the wind.
I didn't realize how long I had been driving around England until my sister sent me a text saying that dinner was done and my father wanted me to come home.
I liked England a lot so far, but it just wan't home. Home was back in Florida. Where my mom is. I shook my head trying not to think of her because whenever I think of her all I feel is a wave of guilt hit me like a tsunami.
Before getting lost a couple of times I finally found my way home. As I was pulling into the driveway dark clouds starting forming in the sky, so I put my roof back on my car and made my way inside.
I hadn't realized I was hungry until I walked into the kitchen and saw a big plate of pizza waiting for me at the table. I devoured 3 slices of pizza in 5 minutes and my stomach was starting to hurt.
"So, you guys start school tomorrow. Are you nervous?" My father asked curiously.
"Of course we're nervous. This is our first time going to a new school." I answered
