I was awakened by the light streaming at my face through my window.

I groaned and turned my back to the other side to check the time on the clock at my desk. It was ten minutes before the usual time I wake up.

I tried going back to sleep, but it didn't work. I sat up and stretched my arms and let out a loud yawn. I had a hard time keeping my eyes open so I slowly place my feet on the ground and stood up.

I walked directly to the bathroom. I faced the big mirror and saw how bad I looked. My hair was all in different directions, my eyes were different shapes from how it's supposed to be, and my clothes were messy like a crumpled paper. As you can see, I'm not a morning person.

I took a long warm shower. After that, I went straight to my closet and got my dark jeans with my favorite white blouse. I put on my hot pink converse and dried my hair with my blow dryer. I checked the big mirror again and was satisfied that I looked more like me again than a while ago.

I checked the time and it only took me fifteen minutes to prepare everything. I wasn't those girls who would take an hour or so.

I tied my hair to a messy bun, grab my bag, patted Maxwell on the head, and ran downstairs.

I ran to the kitchen and noticed mom wasn't there to make my breakfast. You do remember how tired she was last night. I thought.

I grabbed an apple from the dining table and ran outside.

I looked for my car and then it hit me.

It's at school. And not to mention your tires are flat.

Great, now I needed to talk to my inner self just to remember that.

I groaned loudly because of how annoyed I was. I could be late if I walked. I should have woken up a bit earlier today.

I swayed my right foot and started walking at the sidewalk.

I heard a beep behind me and I quickly turned around. I saw Jake in his red car. He was waving at me with a grin on his face. He exited the car and jogged to me. Then the grin on his face was replaced with a frown. "Why are you walking?"

"It's actually a long story."

He studied my expression and thankfully he didn't push me to spill what happened. He just insisted me to ride in his car. This is what's good about Jake, he knows me well enough if I was in a good mood or bad mood.

Jake is my boy best friend. He knew me even before Sophia and Zoey did. He was like those childhood friend of yours. He lived streets away but would always pass by mine to check out on me. Brotherly-protective huh?

He is actually pretty popular in school. He had golden brown hair and he was surely muscular. He is the quarterback. So that explains why so many girls fall head over heals for him. I can understand them. But he was my best friend, it would be awkward if I had feelings for him.

He knew I wasn't in the best mood so he told me some lame jokes to brighten my day but didn't work. I felt bad that he was trying to make my day but the more I tried being happy for him, the more I didn't feel good. It was because of last night. That stupid Bryce Collins is surely listed down at my 'hate' list.

Jake started becoming serious and stopped the car, he gave his full attention to me. "Okay Em, I need to know what happened or who happened."
