Daft Punk: robots after all

Chapter 4: Robot Rock

Sophie is always with Thomas in the old abandoned warehouse in the industrial area of ​​Paris. Guy-Manuel is returned to the spaceship to let his friend speak face to face with the young woman. While discussing, the hands of Thomas and Sophie touch, proving a great sign of affection between the two. But what they do not know is they are observed at this moment, by one of the men in black who to followed Sophie. Man is hidden behind a wall of the warehouse and looked discretly through a crack in the wall. Then he takes a photo of the couple, when their faces are close to one another. After taking this photo, the man puts his camera under his coat and starts to leave to the city center. But even if Sophie wants stay with the Daft Punk forever, she can not. With regret, she began to get up and take her bag.

(Sophie): "I'm going back to the high school, otherwise, my teachers will wonder where I am. I do not like this high school, everyone rejects me. I'm not in my place."

(Thomas): "But you gotta go. You can not spoil your studies, even for us. I want you succeed in your life. I would feel guilty if you could not achieve your dreams."

(Sophie). "If only others could understand me I just want them to respect me better."

(Thomas): "Do not worry, I have an idea. I'll talk to Guy-Manuel, and we will get a surprise for you tonight in your high school."

Meanwhile, the man who had followed Sophie is now in the city, and enters into a small building to the worrying aspect, in the suburbs of Paris. In the building, gunmen monitor the hallways. Man walks into a room and arrives in front of another man, sitting behind a desk and smoking a cigarette. The man is wearing a gray suit with a black tie and sunglasses. This man is the leader of the gang who are called "Black Spades" and that tracks Daft Punk. His name is Mr. Spade. The man puts his cigarette and turned to his henchman.

(Mr. Spade): "Well, you have informations for me?"

(Men): "Yes boss. Look at this picture."

Mr. Spade takes the picture and looks carefully. When he sees Sophie with Thomas, his face seems surprised.

(Mr. Spade): "Who is this girl with the robot?"

(Men): "She's called Sophie Dunams. This is a student, and apparently, she seems to have a relationship with Thomas Bangalter."

At these words, Mr. Spade laughs and throws the photo. For him, a robot is unable to have feelings like love or friendship. Since long, the Black Spades gang knows the extraterrestrial origin of Daft Punk, and they want to capture them for take the secrets of their technology and use it for their own interests.

(Mr. Spade): "This girl, Sophie, she is perhaps a student, but she can be annoying to our plans. Especially if she" loves "one of the robots, she will do anything to help them. Monitors this girl without being detected, and if she gets too curious, kills her."

After receiving his orders, the man takes a few accomplices with him in and out of the building, to return to the city center. In high school, the day passes very slowly for Sophie. Her best friend is sick, she has no one to talk to today. She eagerly awaits the evening to discover the surprise of Daft Punk. In leaving of the math classes, Clara and her band will still see Sophie to talk to him.

(Clara): "Do not think you've won Sophie! This is far from over. You think you're friends with Daft Punk? You are nothing to them!"

(Sophie): "You believe that? They’ve booked me a surprise for tonight, here, at the high school. Thomas Bangalter at even confessed his feelings for me, and I love him also."

Clara does not believe a word of what Sophie said. But to expect further humiliate the young woman, Clara decides to challenge Sophie.

(Clara): "Okay, I say to everyone to come to the high school gym at the end of the classes, like that, everyone can see that there is nothing between you and Daft Punk and you're a bogey and a liar."

Now the whole school will be aware that something is scheduled for tonight at the high school. Sophie just hopes her friends will keep their word and come as promised. The news spreads quickly in high school. Of course, very few people believe this, but are persuaded by Clara and her band, to come in the gymnasium. Towards evening the bell rang to signal the end of the day. But instead of heading for the exit, everyone rushes to the gym. Even the teachers are aware and stayed to see it. But arriving in the gym, the students discover that there is nothing. This is what Sophie feared. Clara began to snicker and turned to Sophie, looking at her with a provocative look. Students begin to look Sophie angrily and contemptuously. To add even angrier, Clara begins to speak to all students, against Sophie.

(Clara): "You see? Sophie led to believe she was friends with Daft Punk, but she lied. It's just a liar!"

Everyone starts to agree with her. Sophie feels very threatened, surrounded by her classmates who look her with anger and mocking her. But suddenly, a robotic voice echoes in the gym. The voice of Guy-Manuel.

(Guy-Manuel): "Young people! Tonight we are here to pay tribute to a beautiful young girl, who is also our new friend, Sophie Dunams."

Sophie smiled and hope comes back, while Clara and the rest of the crowd are stunned. A futuristic and blinding light suddenly appears in the middle of the gym, making a strange noise. When the light disappears, Daft Punk appears in the middle of the gym and starts playing one of their songs: Robot Rock. Guy-Manuel stands behind the drums and hits with pace. Thomas holds a guitar in two runs and plays with the entire dynamic he can.

(Daft Punk):" Rock! Robot Rock!

Rock! Robot Rock!

Rock! Robot Rock!"

During the song, several futuristic lights appear in the room. The gym now looks like a concert hall. Students began to yell and cheer, while Clara and her band do not believe it and seem annoyed. Thomas fact motioned to Sophie to advance towards him. The young woman walks towards Daft Punk, who continues to play. Then, while continuing to play the guitar, Thomas gives a kiss on the cheek of Sophie, in front of everyone, to prove the feelings for her. The crowd continues to cheer and scream. Sophie begins to dance to the rhythm of the song, alongside Thomas who plays the guitar and Guy-Manuel who hits on the drums. For Sophie, the day ends beautifully. After the song, the futuristic light appears again and surrounds Sophie and Daft Punk. When the light disappears, Daft Punk and Sophie have disappeared the gym, in front of everyone, stunned by what they saw.
