Description:
At eleven years old, Dean Winchester thinks he and Castiel will be best friends forever. One day, however, when Castile shatters their friendship in one easy swoop, Dean finds himself fearing nothing will ever be the same between them again.

Now seven years later, their paths cross again and together they find themselves figuring out who they truly are and who they were meant to be.

Thoughts:
Beautiful story, amazing plot, and fantastic writing! Reading this story is like being one of the characters yourself. You can practically feel what they feel with the amazing details provided by the author. It's like taking a walk in Dean and Cas' body.

The flashbacks provide a useful amount of information to let the reader know why Dean and Cas act the way they do with each other. It's gets you a sort of insiders view in the life of a young Cas and Dean. My favorite flashbacks being when Cas' father would talk with him because then you really do get to understand Cas and why he is the way he is. You start to feel sympathetic towards him as the story goes on.

Though the flashbacks were quite awesome. I must admit that my favorite part of the entire story was when Cas and Dean first kiss. It's amazing because here we have two guys that have ignored each other for 6 years all of a sudden kissing. It obviously doesn't happen right away either, which is the best part of all. The author really did build up to that moment. It started off slowly but there was this one part in the story (not saying which part because I don't want to spoil it) where you just know that they're fucked because you know that after that one little taste they won't be able to keep their hands off each other for long.

As you near the ending you can tell how the author seemed to want to wrap it up as soon as they could. The author has much potential when it comes to writing, but if they rush the story it does more bad than good. When they finish writing the story it may come as a relief to them to have written such a thing, but to the readers it is definitely not a relief to have to read through a rushed ending.

Chalk & Chainmail is by far one of the best stories I've ever read and I don't think you'd be disappointed with it. It's amazing and I think you should check it out for yourself.
