Chapter 27

*After Graduation*

Justin's POV

"Congratulations Justin! We're so proud of you." My grandma smiled at me as she pinched my cheeks. "Look at our grandson growing up, Bruce!" She nudged my grandpa with her elbow. He looked at me with tears in his eyes. He always cries when I accomplish something big, for instance, graduating high school and moving on to the real world. He cries for happiness, which makes me want to cry too.

"Thanks for supporting me through thick and thin." I said, hugging them.

"We're always here for you Justin."

I pulled away and turned to my mother, Pattie. She stood there and looked at me with eyes of joy and happiness.

"Honey, I'm so proud of you." I fell into her arms and hugged her as well.

"Thanks for believing in me." I said to her as I pulled back.

She coughed and looked behind me. Curiously, I turned around to see Lexi smiling awkwardly.

"Sorry if I I interrupted anything."

"No, no! You came at the right time. I grabbed her hand and pulled her beside me.

"Everyone, this is Lexi. My beautiful girlfriend." I introduced.

"Nice to meet you Lexi." My grandma and grandpa said as they shook her hand. "Such a beautiful girl. Perfect for Justin." My grandma added.

Lexi giggled. "You're too kind."

"We meet again, Lexi!" My mom pulled her into a hug. "Thank you so much for tutoring Justin. Without you, he wouldn't be here right now."

"No problem, he was hard to work with but in the end, it was all good."

"Hey!" I chuckled. "Hard to work with? You couldn't resist me." I winked.

She rolled her eyes playfully and smirked. "Haha."

"Lexi, would you like to have dinner with me this evening?" My mom asked.

"I would love to!"

"I'll pick you up at 7, and I have a surprise for you." I said.

She raised an eyebrow, clearly interested.

"Sounds good." She nodded. "Can't wait."

Lexi's POV

I picked out a maroon circle skirt o match my black crop top. I quickly changed into the clothing pieces. Then, I grabbed a cream knit cardigan from the closet and slipped it on. Looking into the full view mirror, I was satisfied. The door bell rang, as I slipped on some sandals.

Opening the door, I see Justin in a white button up shirt, black jeans and his signature black supras. I had to admit, he looked so hot.

"Hey babe." He greeted me, taking a step closer. He wrapped his arms around me and and placed his lips on mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer, smelling his sweet scent. Smiling into the kiss we pulled back.

"Let's save this for tonight, in my room."

I shook and head and laughed.

He took my hand and lead me to his car.

"Before we eat, I want to show you something in my room."

Pushing all the dirty thoughts in the back of my head, I nodded. "Okay?"

We walked up the stairs and into his room.

"Sit."

I sat on the edge of the bed. He went to the other side of the room and took an acoustic guitar from the corner and sat on a chair in front of me. He knew how to play guitar? Is he going to sing? I sat down as I looked at him. Butterflies were taking over my stomach already. Why? I don't know.

He placed his fingers over the desired chord and looked up at me, smiling.

By this time I was speechless. I felt tears forming in my eyes. The lyrics were so strong and relatable to the situation we were currently in.
"Oh-my-gosh...Justin..that was amazing. I got chills. I didn't know you could-"

"Yeah, I kind of just play up here alone. You're the first one who actually heard me play."

Getting up, I almost tackled him on the ground. I wrapped my arms around him tightly and have him a big kiss on the cheek, leaving some lipstick on his skin.

"That's a beautiful song. Thank you so much. You should sing to me more often."

"I actually have more songs to sing to you." He winked. "After dinner."
