I couldn't get the red headed sand boy out of my head all night long, I glanced down at my bandaged leg and sighed in relief.
Whoever that Gaara kid is, I owe him big time. And his powers, how does one control sand? Must be a Suna thing.
But anyways, I looked out my window from my bed and smiled softly at the sight. The moon was out and stars adorned the sky. This was the best time for practice.
No one was really alive at this time of night so this is when I would sometimes go out for a well needed training session with myself.
Especially today, earlier today Kakashi sensei visited me at the doctor and told me about the chunin exams. He told me that I would be entering with Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto and basically told be to make sure the team worked together.
So today, at the middle of night, I've decided to go out and learn how to walk up a tree.
Arriving at the training grounds, I looked around to confirm no one was around. Then, I whipped out a couple of shuriken, throwing them all with ease as they landed on the bulls eyes of each respective target.
I smirked in satisfaction then turned to the large array of trees. Walking towards a random tree my train of thought went back to Gaara, he made me so curious.
He's so ..... weird. There's something off about him, and I'm not sure if I want to know what it is.
Shaking my head and resuming with the task at hand, I took out a Kunai and swiftly ran up the tree, marking my highest point before flipping myself away from the tree.
Ugh, Kakashi's right. I'm using way to much chakra.
I repeated this process again and again and I glared at the marks I made with my Kunai. I wasn't improving at all, in fact I feel like I'm getting worse as time passes.
"Seems like you need help."
I turned around quickly and threw my Kunai at the unknown voice. Sasuke easily caught the Kunai with one hand before it pierced his chest and smirked, throwing it on the ground.
I narrowed my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest. "Why are you awake? Leave me alone and ignore me please." I turned back around and scowled at the tree.
I knew he was rolling his eyes behind me but frankly, I don't care.
"Look I don't need you slowing down the team Haru." My scowl deepened at his tone. Me? Slow down the team? He needs to have a reality check and realize I'm probably the most advanced on that team.
. . . Well I would be the most advanced if I knew how to walk up trees.
"What do you mean? I feel like I'm probably the strongest in our team." I said tilting my head. Sasuke has a stick up his ass and I don't like it.
"Well you're wrong. Even Sakura is more competition than you." He said folding his arms over his chest. I rolled my eyes at Sasuke and couldn't help but look at him as if he was the biggest scum on earth.
"I can assure you my capabilities exceed fainting over basic genjutsu and screeching over your presence Sasuke." I sass, more out of annoyance than genuine emotion and he shrugged
"She was the first one to walk up the tree, it was so easy for her. But it seems like you're having trouble. In that case, she's more advanced."
I rubbed my temples as Sasuke got me more and more annoyed "what is your problem? Why are you here? Can't you just go train and try to kill your brother or something I don't care." His eyes instantly turned to slits and he pushed me against the tree with his hand on my neck.
"Don't you ever bring him up again." He darkly said and I simply stared at him with a poker face.
I grabbed his forearm and flipped him to the ground so I was sitting on him. "Don't tell me what to do okay? I don't give a shit about you Sasuke, and don't compare me to girls who don't care about being a ninja. That includes Sakura. And do me a favor, never talk to me again unless it's for a mission."
I stood up and stormed away from him. Somehow Sasuke always manages to get me extremely angry in such a short amount of time.
It saddens me, because I start remembering when we were considered friends.
Flashback
"Sasuke just talk to me!" I pleaded, but it was no use. He has absolutely changed and the fun loving, shy Sasuke I once knew was gone."H-he did it Haru." I shook my head in disbelief. There's no way Itachi would be so crazy. "Sasuke you don't know maybe he had a reaso-"
"Shut up!" He yelled and I quickly retracted my hand from his shoulder. He's never screamed at me like that and I could tell that he didn't care.
"Just shut up! You're not an Uchiha why would you care? Just get away from me Haru!"
I stood still in shock as he ran away from me wiping his tears in progress.
"B-but I care about you." I whispered watching his retreating figure.
