Chapter 38 ✨

Recap:I face my palms towards him and while it seemed like I was going to attack him, I whisper out the words "crimson fruit!" It's then that the impenetrable crystal shelters Lee. I glare fiercely at gaara, not caring that he's the cutest person I've ever met.

He stares right back at me so it's a very tense moment in time. Then, it all suddenly stops. It's Almost like we're in the eye of the hurricane when he bends down and clutches his head, seemingly in a world of pain.

What just happened?!

I quickly step further away from Gaara as I hear Naruto and Sakura yelling at me to go back where they are. I ignore them and watch closely as Gai sensei's figure clears up from afar.

It looks like he blocked Gaara's Sand from reaching lee anymore. Gaara sat up and dropped his head into his hands, looking to be in pain. Just like how he was when I first met him. "Why did you do that?" Gaara asked, still holding his head. I shrugged, which is stupid since he wasn't looking at me but oh well. Why the hell did I do that? I couldn't further!

Everyone watched in silence as Gaara stood up. He stared at me emotionlessly as he said "I give up." Then walked away leaving Lee, Gai and myself in the battleground. Ino appeared behind me wither hands on her hips and a irk mark on her forehead. "Haru what were you thinking?! He could've killed you!" She yelled, grabbing my hand and pulling me back up to where everyone else was. I stayed quiet at that, he didn't kill me!

When I was finally upstairs I felt Kakashi staring at me but I couldn't focus on him, since Naruto is literally holding me for dear life! "HARU YOU'RE OKAY!" he yelled happily into my ear. I cringed away from him but smiled at him. "Yes, yes I am." I responded.

I looked down to the battle ground to see Hayate step up next to Guy sensei. "The winner of this match is- huh?" I furrowed my eyes and looked around when his eyes widened in surprise. I looked to his are of attention, and felt my jaw drop in surprise. Lee, he's standing up!

I narrowed my eyes as I saw his body tremble, looking as if he was about to fall to the floor at any second. "Lee?" Guy asked, looking just as shocked as the rest of us. He rushed to said boy and grabbed him by the shoulders. "Don't worry it's all over." Guy said looking over his student.

"He's unconsciously wanting to fight, impressive." Shinji stated looking at the sad situation. I elbowed his ribcage in annoyance, would it kill him to have a bit of sympathy? "It's okay Lee. You've really proven to be a respectable ninja." Guy said letting out a few tears of his own as he pulled Lee into a hug.

I looked at Temari and Kankuro who were smirking at each other, I felt the corner of my mouth pull downwards a bit. I don't like them, at all!

"The winner of this match is Gaara." Hayate announced, finally doing his job. I let out a puff of air seeing Naruto jump the railing and run over to Lee's unconscious body, well this sucks. I looked over at Gaara, who was glaring at Lee as he walked away. Feeling my gaze on him, his pale eyes turned to meet my red ones.

I arched a brow at him, utterly confused with him as a person. I didn't think he was capable of all that destruction but I should've seen it coming with the way he acts with people. In my opinion, no one is born evil, So what the hell could've happened to Gaara as a child to make him so.....crazy?!

He continued to hold my gaze, before abruptly looking away and grabbing onto his head once again, in pain. "Gaara!" Temari said with worry, as she walked over to him alongside Kankuro. Gaara then stopped and looked up at me with a fierce glare. Kakashi noticed this, so he pulled me behind him and arched a brow at Gaara, daring him to do anything.
