Iona had figured the best time to tell Maggie the wonderful news was during her preparations for her wedding ceremony - specifically while she was getting her hair done.
She thought wrong.
Maggie had literally leaped out of her chair and grabbed Iona by the waist before squealing in delight, destroying the hair stylist's effort for the last hour. After profusely apologizing, they both sat down next to each other and exchanged delightful fantasies of their future and what to name their children.
Downstairs, Mike insisted that they open a bottle of champagne even before a single guest arrived after Raiden had told him the similar story. In the groom's typical fashion, remarks of a double wedding were floating about and Raiden had to completely shut him down before he approached the floor manager and requested said change.
With one bottle almost drained of its contents, the floor manager had to sidle up to them to inform them that the first of the many expected guests were due to arrive in another half an hour and that the band needed them to clear the space for a soundcheck.
As members of the band filtered in, an assistant approached Mike and Raiden and requested for the wedding rings.
"What was that all about?" questioned the groom as he handed over the small velvet box to the assistant, who quickly disappeared back upstairs to the bride's dressing room. Raiden shrugged his shoulders in return.
"No idea, man. Just pray she doesn't lose it or something."

Then, it was time.
With the clergy, Raiden, Mike, Iona along with the guests and groomsmen and bridesmaids all stationed at their respective posts, the band began the traditional wedding march theme and within moments, Maggie appeared at the end of the hall, completely decked out and looking every bit the deserving bride she was.
Before she could reach the halfway mark, Iona was already struggling to hold back her tears. Her best friend, the girl she grew up with and shared her biggest secret with, has morphed into an adult woman for real this time.
Soon, she won't be able to spend as much time with her as they did back in the days but it was all for a better reason. She glanced over at Raiden, who was glancing at her at the same time, and shared a smile.
When the wedding rings were requested, two white doves flew in through an open window with velvet boxes tied to their delicate legs. The pair landed in front of the guests and both Raiden and Iona retrieved it before handing it over to the bride and groom.
As the rings were exchanged, vows said and kisses sealed, Raiden clocked his head at the now vanished birds and raised an eyebrow. Iona merely winked. The unsuspecting guests were still applauding at the seemingly impossible presentation of the rings.
When both Jen and Evelyn came back to the hall almost a minute since the disappearance of the doves, Iona gave them both an inconspicuous thumbs up. It was also a good thing that she was looking in their direction as both of them quickly jumped up and pointed behind her.
As Iona turned, a bouquet of flowers landed in her hands and the crowd went insane again. Mike and Maggie both shot Iona a naughty grin as Raiden blushed.
That evening, as the guests mingled and danced their way through the night, both Maggie and Iona were sat by the table. "How did you managed to get those birds?!" Maggie questioned, clearly still unable to process how tame and rehearsed those doves appeared to be.
"I'll tell you in time. You know I won't keep anything from you, right?" Now, come on! Go on and dance with your husband!"
"My husband? I'll have plenty of time to do that, like the rest of my life. Tonight, I wanna' dance with my best friend!"
With that, Iona was literally yanked to the dance floor by Maggie. Raiden and Mike decided to join in, swapping dance partners and at times even dancing with one another. Before any of them knew it, Elizabeth had started a dance train with Jen and Evelyn already in tow.
The train passed almost every guest in the room and it was only a matter of time before the four of them were collected in it.
Where that train was heading, no one could care. What mattered at this point in time was that for once, everything seemed to fall into utter perfection.
It was the perfect fairy tale ending.
