Elizabeth's P.O.V.
I am mentally freaking out! I can not stand to wait anymore! I am about to meet the biggest team in Utah! Let alone go into their freaking locker room! I can't wait to see Tyler up close. I want to ask him about his number like Georgia had suggested. Just when I thought I was going to die of waiting, the locker room door opens and out comes Zach, the guy who set this up and is best friends with coach. "Hey guys, the team is ready to have you in now!" He said cheerfully. I look over at Georgia and she laughs at me, "Some one is a little on the freak out side." Her and Zach laugh and we follow him inside.
I walk in and expect it to be worse than our locker room. It smelled about the same so I was okay with it. Zach quieted the boys down and introduced us, "Guys I would like you all to meet Elizabeth and Georgia. They are on the Utah Avalanche team. They are coming in and talking with you guys." The guys nod their heads and Zach turns to us, "Elizabeth here, is the MVP on the team. The cool part is that its a guy team. Her and Georgia here are the only girls!" Shock covers the players faces and i stand there awkwardly. Then we are excused to mingle.
Georgia gives me a shove in Tyler's direction and I turn and look at her then walk the rest of the distance. He stands up and looks at me, "Hi I'm Tyler, and you must be Elizabeth." He puts his out to shake mine and I nod my head, "So do you have any questions for me?" He asked putting on a smile that was not helping my situation.
I clear my throat then speak, "Yeah, I wanted to ask you about your number. Why did you pick the number fifteen?" He looks at me and I Can see surprise on his face. He smiled then said, "Well, that was a great question. May I ask you why you want to know?" He raises his eyebrow at me then I answer, "I picked that number for myself." He smiled then finally answered my question, "When I was fifteen my mom died." He must have seen the sympathy in my face because then he followed up with, "So why did you pick that number?" I looked at him and felt my eyes begin to water.
He looked at me confused but when I answered I swear I heard a gasp, "My mom died when I was fifteen to." He was the one with the sympathetic look then he said, "I'm so sorry." I shrug and smile. "Its not your fault. So that was a good win on that fight tonight eh?" he laughs and shrugs. "Gotta do whatcha gotta do."
"What caused that fight tonight?" he looks confused for a second.
He thought about my question for a while then finally answered, "My goalie was in trouble. If I hadn't started some kind of diversion then they would have gotten a goal. I saw we were up by two and decided that I would just get in a fight for it. Saved Andrews butt." He looked towards Andrew who was in a deep conversation with Georgia. I lightly smile then say, "That is a true team player!" He laughs then I had to end our conversation. "Well I still gotta talk to some of the other players but thank you so much for our talk!" He nodded his head then replied, "No problem! See ya around?" I realize that this wasn't a statement but a question and nodded my head yes. I was SO talking to coach about this tomorrow.
