I opened my eyes and saw three figures staring at me.
One was Micheal, next was Emma and the third one was a nurse.
I blinked once or twice.
Then I took support on my hands and slowly got up.

When I did so, Mike and Emma shouted together.
"No, don't get up."
But by the time I was already half way up. So I decided to sit than to lie down again.

"Don't you feel any pain?" asked Emma.

"No, I am fine. The tummy hurts a bit." I answered.

"You mean to say. Nothing else?" she asked.

"No. Why are you asking?" I asked.

"You have been unconscious for the last 13 hours." said Emma.
Mike was just sitting quietly and listening.
Why was everyone so serious? I was fine.

"I have been sleeping for 13 hours!" I exclaimed when I had nothing else to say.

Emma pulled out her stethoscope and put the muscle piece on my wrist, then on my chest.
She then unbuttoned my gown near the tummy and slipped her hand in.
As her fingers traced each and every stitch, I felt a bit ticklish.
When she was about to reach the last stitch, it hurt.

"Ouch!" I shouted in pain.

She pulled out her hand and buttoned the gown.
Then she got up and said a number of tests to the nurse.

"I would like to have a word with you Micheal" she said to Mike and went out.

"Take care" he smiled for the first time and went out. Leaving me alone with the nurse.

Narrator's POV.

Micheal followed Emma to her cabin and they both got in.
Emma looked excited. The glow on her face explained everything.
Micheal looked confused. He was unable to make out what was going on?

"This is a miracle. I must say for the first time I have gone through such a case." she smiled and said.

"Sorry doctor, but I am not able to keep up with what you are saying. Could you please be more descriptive" he said.

"Yes... Listen carefully.
Human being's ancestors were apes or in general sense, they were animals. Animals have this rule that they either adapt to their surroundings or perish. We don't believe this but the same thing also carries for humans. Only that we don't notice it. So getting back to the point. Yesterday, after the operation, we stitched the wound with sutures that can be absorbed the body, therefore healing the wound. Now, any other normal lady would lay unconscious for maximum 6 hours due to the effect of anaesthetic and then wake up. But the pain would still be there. And that is very very painful. It would take at least two days to get back to normal, or to adapt to the wound. But on the contrary, what happened here is completely rare. Becky's body was supposed to wake up in 6 hours. But instead, she quickly adapted to the wound and her body decided to keep her asleep for another 7 hours and use all the energy in healing the wound. The condition of the wound now, is that which is supposed to be after a week for a normal lady. I won't call it a miracle but few people have a fast healing capability. Like for example, yesterday if her and me met with a severe accident, there are more number of chances that she would survive it and I may not."

"So you are saying she will be better very soon?" asked Micheal.

"Yes, indeed. On seeing the progress, I would say that the wound will completely heal in a week. And I must also say that your girlfriend, is a tough girl." Emma smiled and said.

Micheal blushed and answered "Yes, she is. When can I take her home?"

"Well...she can go today itself but I would prefer that she should rest here for another day." she said.

"Thank you doctor" he said and left the cabin.

He went to the reception and paid the bill.

Then went to Becky's room.

Becky's POV.

As Mike entered the room, the nurse left, leaving both of us alone.

"Hi" I smiled. I was having my breakfast. It is so difficult to describe how hungry I was.

"Hey" Mike said and sat near the bed.

"So, what did she say? Am I fine?" I asked.

"No" he said. My heart skipped a beat "You aren't just fine but amazing. He smiled.

I led out a sigh of relief. "When are we going back to LA?" I asked.

"After a week." he answered.

"Why? You know we have a match coming and I am the head cheer leader. I have to punch that Derek. Oh! and yes  my birth day is also coming, there is so much to do...."

"Becky calm down. All that can be seen later. What is more important now is your health." he said.

"Yeah!" I said and looked around.

We stayed in the hospital for that day and then moved to the hotel.

The next week flew by real fast.

Mike used to take extra care. Since I wasn't able to bath because of the stitches, he used to wipe my hands, legs and face with a wet towel.

He used to give me medicines on time. Entertained me and never left my side.

We became much closer and I guessed that it was the signal that I was in love with him.
And I had no doubt that he wasn't. Only that he was very shy to speak his mind. So... I wondered if I should be the one to propose him.

And yes. Once it also happened that I got tired that Derek was calling me every now and then, so I took out the sim card and kept aside my phone. Though I admit the first thought was to smash it into pieces.

Soon came the day to go back to LA.
Yay! finally, Home sweet home.

It was 12 noon and we were prepared to leave.
Micheal said "Stay here, I'll be back in five minutes." then left the room.

Five minutes passed by, then 10, I was getting impatient. I checked the room once again in case we didn't leave anything.

15 minutes also passed by and yet no sign.
Okay too much of my patience was lost.

I got up took both the trolleys and went out.

Then I made my way to the elevator.

I was perfectly normal by then. I could walk and didn't have a clue why didn't Micheal believe me?
I was lost in thoughts and tripped on a step which I didn't notice.
I was just about to fall that Micheal grabbed me. Too filmy right?

"What are you doing? I told you stay in the room. Why don't you understand if something happens to you, how will I...." his voice trailed off.

" I...what? " I asked eagerly.

"What would I have answered to your mom." he lied. I could see his cheeks turn red.
"You are a bad lair Micheal Smith" I smiled and got back on my feet as he pulled the trolley bags into the elevator.
