13 years later...
Scott rubbed at his face as he looked at the paperwork on his desk. All of them needed to be filled out, but he just couldn't bring himself to do it. He sighed again.
"Janice?" A middle age women walked out from behind a corner.
"Yes Dr.Mccall? Is something wrong? Can I help you?" She babbled.
"Yes. I need you to fill all of this paperwork out. I need the animal name, adress, owners, why the owners brought them, and official diagnosis. Can you do that Janice?" Janice nodded and Scott packed up his things. "I'm going home. I promised Ally and Alicia I would be home for Alicia's birthday dinner. She's turning 14!" Scott said, his face lighting up woth excitement for his little girl. Janice wished Alicia a happy birthday and Scott walked out to his car. He could have sworn someone was watching him. He growled under his breath quietly, his eyes flashing red. He saw two golden eyes peering out at him before they were gone. He shrugged it off as a wild animal interested in human life. He drove off from the vet clinic he had inherited from Deaton. He parked his car in front of the car. He slammed his door shut and popped the trunk, grabbing his daighter's birthday present before slamming the trunk closed gently, for a werewolf, and walking inside.
"Hi Daddy! Mom was just about to call you." Scott let out a hmm and sniffed at the air.
"Chinese Takeout?" He asked his daughter, who nodded.
"Yeah. It's my favorite. Plus, mom was craving Chinese." Alicia shuddered. "I don't even want to know what she's gonna put on it." Scott let out a little shudder as well as they rounded the corner to see his 7 month pregnant wife helping their 7 year old son put some food on his plate. Scott swooped in and picked up the boy, who squealed and giggled wildly as Scott flew him around the kitchen. Allison rolled her eyes and continued to serve the food.
"Heya Ace. What's up buddy? Have a good day at school?" Ace nodded vigourously and starting chatting all about his day to his half listening father, who just nodded along to the boy's rambling. Scott was overtaken by a wave of sadness that was threatening to suffocate him as he thought about how much his son's rambling reminded him of Stiles. His son sniffed the air for a minute.
"Daddy, why do you smell sad?" Scott mentally cursed the werewolf gene that his son inherited and knelt down to explain that he was just sad because he had to go to work the next day. Ace giggled and let the topic go, but Allison had her 'We'll-Talk-About-This-Later' face on and Scott sighed mentally. The family ate their food with lots of chatter from the 14 and 7 year olds. Alicia showed her father the new bracelet that she got from Lydia's 14 year old daughter, Naomi, and told them that Lily had a matching one. Allison soon produced a birthday cake with 14 candles on it. Alicia snapped a picture of it, causing Scott to roll his eyes, and blew out the candles. Scott and Ace's eyes reflected the candlelight, turning their eyes gold and red. Alicia's briefly glowed a vivid forest green in response before they returned t the chocolate brown she inherited from her father. They all said goodnight and headed to bed. When Alicia was sure that her parents were in their bedroom, she quietly snuck out of her bedroom and into the backyard.
"Hi! I'm here!" A fox suddenly came out of the forest, golden irises meeting chocolate ones. "Did you know it was my birthday today?"
I did Alicia! And I have something for you! Hang on. I gotta go get it. Be back in a minute. The fox disappeared into the woods again and was back a minute later with something dangling in his mouth. It was a little picture frame made of twigs with a slightly frayed photo in it. It was a photo that Alicia had snapped of them together one day on her phone. She had printed it out and given the fox one of the pictures. She knew that he had hung it up in his den somewhere. I made it the best I could by myself, he said his chest puffing out with pride. Suddenly, he looked down self conciously. Do you like it?
