Chapter 15

A week later, Matt was feeling guilty towards Kamilla for having his son at his place. He knew that she loves Robbie and was missing him. He decided to see her so that he could make understand that her relation with Phil was not appropriate.

When he called at her place, it was a middle aged man who opened the door instead of Kamilla.

- Hi, can I see Kamilla, please?

- Hi, no she has gone out and will be home later. May I help you?

- I'm Matthew Taylor, who are you?

- I'm Phil Connor. So you are Robbie's father.

- She told you about me.

- Yes, years before.

He was astonished that Kamilla told the said Phil about him and she did not tell everyone about Phil, might be the age gap between the two.

He refused to wait for her, instead he went to Tina's place where he left Robbie earlier.

Arriving at Tina's place, a pregnant woman opened the door for him and was looking suspiciously at him.

- Yes, what can I do for you?

- I have come to see James and also take my son home.

- Your son, who are you?

He was getting irritated but he could not vent his anger on a pregnant woman.

- I am Matthew, Robbie's father.

Timmy who was coming to call his aunt, saw Matthew. He them shouted:

- Uncle Matt, hi! You are early.

- Yes, Timmy where is Robbie?

- Timmy dear, you know this man?

- Yes, Aunty Jenny, he is Robbie's father.

- Oh! Sorry, I'm Jenny, James' sister. Please do come. James and Tina will be here soon. Do wait for them.

I'm making tea for myself, do you want some or coffee?

- No problem, you did not know me. A cup of black coffee with one spoon of sugar will be fine.

As she went to the kitchen, Robbie came to see his father who told him that he could play with his friend as he was waiting for James.

- Sorry again. You know since Robbie has been kidnapped once, I am suspicious of strangers.

Matt was shocked to hear that his son was once been kidnapped. But Jenny did not notice that on the face of Matt and continue talking.

- We were at the hospital a week after Timmy's birth.

Not to arise any suspicion, Matt acknowledged the information. And Jenny thought that Matt already knew about the incident.

- Yes, I have heard about it, said James whose lawyer's instinct was reviving.

- You are so generous for having taken Robbie with you. He will be safe at your place as you have recently come to Bayston Hill. Billy has escaped. My husband is at the place of Kam because he was the one who arrested Billy last time.

Don't tell James and Tina. They think I'm here because Phil is abroad and I could not be alone as I am due to deliver my baby next month.

- Phil is your husband. I met him at Kami's place. I did not recognize him.

- He is a master in disguise.

- Yeah, I have seen that. He looks like Kami's uncle.

- Oh, it is a good cover.

- Why would he want to come after Kamilla?

- Because of her deposition that Billy was sentenced to jail for 10 yrs.

He could not go further with his interrogation as James and Tina arrived. So he invited all of them to his place for the weekend as a welcome party.

The same evening, he got everyone at his place. Whilst the children and Jenny were asleep, he related his conversation which he had with Jenny to James and Tina.

- You did not tell me that Robbie was kidnapped nor Kamilla did say anything.

- We thought that when you two talked about Robbie, that Kamilla told you about that incident.

- No. Poor Jenny, she did not know that I was unaware and she told me not to tell you two as Kamilla did not want you to be frightened.

- Please, I want to know what happened. Now, I can see why she had let me have Robbie without any fight.

She wanted me to think that it was my idea. She is good.

Tina then told him the whole story.

- It was a week after my delivery. Billy called at the hospital nursery. Timmy was in Kam's arm and Robbie was in his pram together with Jenny. He took Robbie and threatened Jenny with a knife.

He thought that Kam was Kathy and told her if she wanted to have her son and friend safe, she had to go with him. Having no option, she went with him. He let go of Jenny but took Robbie along.

He kept them hostage for two days because he thought that Kathy left him for you. Upon realizing that she was not Kathy, it was too late as Police had already surrounded him. He begged Kam to forgive him but she testified against him in Court where he was sentenced for 10 yrs. It was Phil who was the detective at that time.

Jenny who could not sleep, joined them in the patio. She then related to them that when Billy escaped, photos of Kam was found in his cell. Fortunately, she was found alone on all the photos which was taken whilst she was at her office, home and other places.

Phil then contacted Kamilla, who agreed to have him at his place. Samuel also knew about it and he wanted to help. But Kamilla said that she did not want others to be involved.

- I think it will be safe if Jenny, Tina and the children will stay at my place. James and I will be at your place, Tina.

I can have security here. What do you say?

- I agree with you, Matt, said James. But we have to talk to Phil and Kami. Now we know why she has been fainting. She is so stubborn, she thinks that she can save the world.

- Don't be angry towards her, Matt. She is my friend. Last time, she was alone with Robbie. She knows that you will keep her son safe, no matter what, Tina told him.
