Chapter 17

When Matthew heard the noise, he immediately ran to the office of Kamilla with Phil and the other officers. There, he saw both Kamilla and Billy on the ground. They were both injured.

He kneeled down near Kamilla whilst Phil was calling for medical help. She was injured at her shoulder and she was bleeding a lot whereas Billy was injured at the head and was bleeding as well.

James was trying to stop the bleeding when the ambulances arrived. Both Kamilla and Billy were taken to the hospital where both had to undergo operation.

Billy died whilst going through the surgery. He already had a brain cancer and was in the last stage.

As for Kamilla, she was in the Intensive Care Unit because of the blood loss. Matt called Kathy and told her about the incident. He was afraid to lose her.

Later, Kathy, her parent, Tina and Robbie called at the hospital. They were all eager to meet Kamilla. Robbie hugged his father and said

- Dad, are you okay?

He looked at Robbie and suddenly, he was crying. Everybody was astonished. Robbie then said

- Don't cry dad, mom will be okay. She loves us. She has always fight for those she care.

- Thanks son. I needed that. I am proud to say you are a good son. Your mother has done well with you.

You can meet her but one by one. She is still unconscious but the doctor said she is a fighter. Nonetheless, we have to wait for 24 hrs.

- You all go home. I will remain here, said Kathy.

- No. I will remain here, said James. You all go. I'll call you when she wakes up.

- You are tired. Go home, take a shower, have one or two hour rest, then come back.

Look at Robbie, don't you think he needs you.

- Okay.

They all went to their places. Matt took Robbie to his place where both father and son took a shower and had dinner though they did not want to eat. He then asked Robbie if he wanted to stay at his grandparent or Timmy place.

Robbie said he wanted to go to his grandparent place. Before going there, he called them and said that he was coming.

- Hi Charles, I am going to the hospital and Robbie wanted to stay at your place.

- We are happy to have him with us. It has been a long time since he has stayed. Annie will feel good.

- How is she?

- She is preparing dinner. Will you have some?

- Thanks, I have already eaten.

I'll be going so that Kathy can come back. I'll call you as soon as I see Kamilla.

When he arrived at the hospital, he saw Kathy sitting outside and doctors and nurses were in Kamilla's room.

- What happened? Why are they in?

- She was trying to open her eyes, so I called the nurses. I was going to call when you arrived.

30 minutes later, the doctors came out. One of them told him that she is out of danger and soon, she would open her eyes.

He told Kathy to go home and to bring Robbie tomorrow.

He fell asleep whilst waiting for Kamilla to regain consciousness. He was holding her hand when she opened her eyes.
