Ariana POV
I ran into the training room with Alec but push him back when the forsaken comes towards us. Alec tries to move in front of me but i push him back again getting hit by the forsaken. Falling straight to the ground. As hodge and Alec snap the forsakens neck. Isabel runs in
"Oh, my god! Ariana. Oh my god"

I sat on the bed in the infirmary with Alec and izzy beside me as our farther draws a rune on my back. My cellphone rings and I sigh taking it out of my pocket and about answer it when Alec takes it out of my hand I look at him with raised eyebrows
"No talking just healing." Isabel says for him. Alec stands up and answers the phone

I walk out of the infirmary and see my ship talking. They both look to me and Magnus frowns
"You okay, Ariana."

"Nothing I can't handle, Magnus. Anyway i have to go. I'm a busy woman. And if I see the envoy I'll send him you're way." I walk to the training room wrapping my hands in the black athletic tape and hitting the new punching bag. Very aggressively. When Isabel walks in along with Alec

"He calls Meliorn in and arrests him, then act likes it's out of his hands." I ignore her and keep hitting the punching bag

"Your gonna hurt your self." Says Alec just as I slam my arm into the bag causing a pain to shoot through

"I'm fine, Alec. It was the Clave that gave the order, not Chris." I tell them holding my arm in pain

"Are you sure about that." Just as they says that jace runs up the stairs

"Hey, you alright?"

"I'm fine." I say softly looking away

"I just spoke with your parents. They're being sent back to idris." Isabel looks at jace then me

"What? Another order from Chris." I inhale deeply looking at my ring on my finger

"Who's Chris."

"He's in charge of the institute."

"he's what." And here is where sassy jace makes an entrance

"Temporally."

"And now he's convinced the Clave that mum and dad aren't doing their job?" Isabel and Alec look at me heatedly

"Maybe they aren't. The instate was under their control when the forsaken got in."

"What are you talking about"

"Mom and dad where members of the circle."

"What? They don't have circle runes."

"That's because the made a deal with the Clave prior to the uprising. In exchange for their cooperation, they were pardoned." I explain to them as Alec looks at me sadly

"Your questioning their loyalty?"

"Valentine is back. The circle is rising. They're under suspicion." I look at jace as he crosses his arm across his chest

"No way. Robert and maryse took me in. They raised me as their own. I know what kind of people they are." I took a step closer to him so where chest to chest

"Are you sure? They lied to us. For years, they've been telling us how to act. That we have to uphold the lightwood name. Well, they're the ones who tarnished it. They're hypocrites." Chris walks up to us and stands next to me

"You must be jace wayland. Chris branwell. You're quite the legend back in idris." He says sticking his hand out for jace to shake, but jace just keeps his arm. Chris lowers his hand

"Don't believe everything you hear." Chris looks down at me with a smile

"Did you tell them." My face pales slightly  and I notice jace, Alec and Isabel look at me in confusion

"Tell us what?"

"Chris and I are engaged. We're getting married."

"You're not serious." Is that jealousy I see on jace's face. Nope I'm probably seeing something else

"You were suppose to tell them 'no'. It's your life to ruin." Isabel and Alec storm out and Chris walks away. I look at jace

"Not sure what to say." He tells me

"How about, ' none of this matters'? We have to stop valentine." I say to him turns around

"Finally. something we agree on." He leaves with a heart broken face? Nope probably not.

I walked around the middle of the institute before getting joined
"I need a word with you, now. We're you planning on telling us about your engagement before me left for idris."

"I'm marrying Chris, and now you know."

"I think you misunderstood your mothers suggestion that you marry. We wanted someone who would help this family, not destroy it." He scolds me

"You think Chris is destroying this family? Not the fact that you where in the circle?" The silence between us could hear a pin drop

"You know?"

"What did you think, I'd never find out? All these years, you never said anything."

"We couldn't."

"Is that the best you could do? You drilled into me that I was never good enough."

"It wasn't that. We wanted you to better than we were." He says looking at me with a sad face

"You wanted to sweep history under the rug. You wanted us to save you, restore the lightwood name."

"Ariana, your making a mistake." I shook my head in return

"No I'm gonna fix what you broke. And I'm gonna do it in my terms." I walk away from him

I called in a search party for the cup and everyone looked in her room
"Ariana, call this off now." Jace says walking up to me

"I guess Carly's bedroom is in apart of Switzerland?" I ask him as Chris walks up to us

"We can't call it off. We had to find the mortal cup."

"It's all clear." One of the searchers said from behind jace

"Of course it is"

"It's not here. Let's keep looking." They leave the room following after Chris leaving me with jace who looks at me

"What going on with you?"

"Look, jace, we have to turn over the cup."

"Ariana, she's risked everything to find it."

"And we've risked everything for her. Either she gives the cup to Chris or I'll do it myself." Jace sighs

"I'll bring her back. But please, let clary be the one to give the cup to the Clave."

"Do I get something if I do?" I ask jace walking up to him sir at faces are inches apart. To the point where I can feel his breathing on my face

"I don't know do you deserve it." He whispers leaning a bit closer. Like literally there only like an inch between our face

"I think i d..." I'm cut off by jace's lips on mine one of his hand in my hair the other on my waist. I was shocked at first before wrapping my arms around his neck leaning into the kiss. Almost like something snapped in jace he pulls back
"Your getting married." And then walks out of the room. Leaving me with tingles around my lips
