'a little party never hurt anybody'

-

"Ava come on! Let's get drunk!" Willow shouted over the music in the club. Ava rolled her eyes at her best friend.

"I am not dragging you home."

"Oh don't worry about me."

Confusion etched across Ava's face. She just shrugged and downed a shot.

"Hey" a drunk teenager said wrapping an arm around Ava's shoulders.

"Uh, hi"

"You wanna go upstairs?"

"No thanks" Ava said as she pushed past him and went looking for Willow.

Ava saw a familiar face in the crowd.

"Andy?" Ava said staring at the boy she had known since she was nine years old.

"Ava?" He said staring at her.

He ran a hand through his now blonde hair. Ava pulled on her dress and stood there awkwardly.

"So um, how are you?"

"How are you!? How are you!? Is that all I get after fücking 3 years! You stopped talking to me when i was 18!"

"I'm sorry I know but I have my reasons!"

"Screw your reasons Andy fowler!"

Everyone around the pair stared at them and Ava ran off in search of willow.

All she wanted to do was cry. 3 years and no messages, no phone calls, no everyday facetime's. Ava couldn't take it anymore

All she needed was her friend.

-

"So what exactly happened between you two last night?" Willow asked as she sucked on a lollipop.

"I kind of had a go at Andy" Ava sighed and put a packed of biscuits into a shopping cart.

"He hasn't spoken to you for 3 years so you did have a reason for that."

"I know but I feel really bad now."

"Ava, listen to me, he stopped talking to you, you don't need to feel guilty. He's the idiot who stopped talking to such a beautiful girl."

Ava ran a hand through her hair and carried down the isle. She picked up certain things she needed then moved onto the next isle.

Maybe it's not my fault. He was the one who stopped talking to me.

But you never made any effort either.

Ava listened to the voices in her head. She argued with herself. Her trolley collided with someone's back and she instantly went to their aid.

"I am so sorry."

"It's okay don't worry" the boy said as he rubbed his back.

"I wasn't looking where I was going ."

"Honestly it's fine."

Ava smiled.

"I'm Mikey."

"Ava."
