"Thank you for doing this with me," he said as we walked. It was hot as hell, but I enjoyed being with him. "No, it's fine," I said and smiled. We were walking up this big mountain at Griffith Park. Algee thought it would be a good idea for us to go on a hike. I had sand everywhere.

"I can't believe I did this," I said and turned to look at how far I've walked. "But I can," he said and smiled at me. "We did it together," he added. "Bestie goals," I said. He turned ahead and looked down at the ground. "Yea, bestie goals," he said and started to run.

"Really?" I yelled while laughing and running after him. Little guy has some speed, I must admit. I watched the muscles in his back flex. Lord I have the sexiest 'friend' ever.

"Man this feels amazing. I feel like I'm on top of the world," he said out of breath as we made it to a decent point. I looked at the beautiful view. You could see everything from up here. Beautiful shades of green and blue.  "Niggas out here takin a hike at Griffith Park. Catch me out here. Come catch me," he said. I looked over at him to see him recording himself. "The hike is over," I said and laughed. "Shittttt. We still gotta go back down this mf." He said and put his phone in his pocket.

He looked up at the sky and admired everything. There was complete silence for a while.
"Sometimes I wish I could fly" "Soar thru the air and feel that breeze" "Take in the lay of the land from a birds eye view" he said. "I just wanna enjoy life with people that make me happy," he added. "You know what I'm sayin?" He asked and looked over at me for confirmation. I nodded.

I know exactly what you mean. "You know Y/N, we been friends for hellas, and I just keep thinking, like, you the only one that has kept it a hunnid with me." He said. I listened to what he was saying, waiting for more. "Neva mind, it's nothin," he said and shook his head. "No it's fine. I hear you," I said. Idk if I was getting my hopes up, but I knew he was about to do it. He was finally about to make me his girl.

"Like after everything. You always there. After a hard day, I can just wind down with you. We can always chill. Before every audition, you were always there. Every interview, every studio sessio-" he started. "Omg Algee, can I please get a picture?" I heard. I looked over to see a girl. Moment officially ruined. "Of course," he said and stood next to her.
"Here, can you take it?" She asked me.

I smiled and nodded while grabbing her phone. "There you go," I said as I took the photo. "Thank you." She said. She looked over at Algee. "Algee, your girlfriend is so nice." She said. Algee started to laugh. "She's most definitely not my girlfriend" he said.

"Well, nice meeting you," she said and walked off. I was right after her. "Y/N, where you going?" He yelled. "She's most definitely not my girlfriend," I said mocking him. "Wtf is that supposed to mean?" I asked offended. He just doesn't get it. I've liked him for a while now. "You know what. It's fine." I added.

"Don't be like that B!" He said. "Like what?" I asked. "That really just made me feel some type of way." I said. "Why?" He asked. "I'm most definitely not your girl." I said. "Yea, but you aren't." He argued. He mumbled something afterwards, but I couldn't hear him. I couldn't do anything but laugh. Did he really just say that? "Just a few minutes ago you were telling me how I'm 'always there', now I'm not anybody." I said.

"You right. Fuck you. Have fun!" I added and started to walk off. "Y/N, wait. You know iain mean it like that," he said and grabbed my arm. "How exactly the fuck did you mean it Algee?" I asked. "I didn't come up here with you for you to tell me how much I don't mean to you," I added. "I love you aight. THERE. I said it," he yelled. "What?" I asked and turned around. "This probably ain't the right time to tell you, but Y/N I love you. I need you," he said.

It was all a bunch of bullshit and going in one ear and out the other. "Come on Algee. I don't have time for games," I said. "It's not a game. I swear. Just hear me out......please," he begged. Sweat dripped down his face from the hot sun. His eyes squinted as they were blinded by the strong rays.

"We've been friends for what? 6 years now. Y/N, I've grown up with you and I can't see myself without you. You were there before I made an appearance in Let It Shine. You were there for The New Edition Biopic. You were there for every song I've recorded. You was that shoulder to lean on when I needed it." He said.

I listened to every word he said faithfully, but what was he trying to say?

"Then I asked myself. Algee what the fuck are you doing? I realized that I could no longer be friends with you." He said. My facial expression went from confusion to 'wtf'. I shook my head in disbelief. "Right now. Right here where it's hella hot and a nigga covered in sand. I'm asking if you'll still be there," he said and reached in his basketball shorts pocket.

"Algee what are you doing?" I asked with tears in my eyes. He got down on one knee.
"Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N. Will you marry me?" He asked. My mouth wouldn't allow me to say anything.
It all seemed surreal. We weren't even dating. Just friends that couldn't live without one another. Now this?

I then came to reality. My mind and my soul were telling me two different things. Yes or Hell Yes.
"Hell Yes." I answered as he slid the ring on my finger. He stood up and held me in his arms and placed his lips on mine. I was basically bawling at that point. I ignored the sweaty contact and everything else. It was just me and him. I was thinking of all the things he'd said earlier.

And as for me ...............................................................
I wish that I could be right there with him when he takes flight.
