—marley—

i ran inside and quickly got my ukulele. i tried to me fast so i wouldn't get stuck in a situation with my mom. luckily i was fast enough. i ran outside and stood next to tyler. we started to walk towards his house.

.::::.

we got to tyler's house.

"wait! josh plays the drums! we should ask if he wants to join!" i said excited.

"yeah! good idea!"

we walked over and knocked on the door.

"hey mar! hey tyler!" laura said, "i'll get josh!"

"okay, thank you so much laura!"

"JOSH!" laura yelled making tyler jump.

i chuckled. foot steps were nearing the door.

"yeah?" josh said.

"it's marley and tyler!" she said opening the door more so josh can tyler and i.

"hey! what's up?"

"well we were wondering if you wanted to join us in our little band practice." tyler said.

"yeah! lets go!" josh said.

we went over to josh's garage. he opened it and i revealed a drum set with many broken drum sticks around it.

"i'm gonna get my keyboard!" tyler said.

"okay, i'll be setting up. when i say setting up i mean i will tune my uke." i say.

"alright i'll be right back!" tyler said jogging across the lawn

"so.... how have you been?" josh asked.

we haven't talked in a while. the day after we met up before school, his mom and dad had decided to split. he was mad at me for saying that his dad would come back but i was wrong. i can tell he has been getting his anger out by drumming.

"are you still mad at me?" i ask josh ignoring his question.

"i-i don't know. i mean you did tell me my dad would never leave."

i looked down. i stared at my black vans.

"look marley, i'm willing to forgive you but i-i just don't know if we'll be the same."

i nodded and started to twiddle thumbs. i felt arms wrap around me. i hugged back.

"please don't be mad at me. i didn't know. i'm sorry." i said into his shoulder.

"it's alright. just please be here when i need you." josh said.

we let go and i walked over to get my uke. i plucked each string to make sure it was in tune.

after i put done my uke i heard a faint help.

"help!" the voice got a little clearer. i walked out of the garage and saw tyler struggling with the keyboard. the keyboard was sliding down his leg and he was holding the stand like his life depended on it. i ran over and grabbed the keyboard. damn this thing is heavy.

"thank you marley!" tyler said standing up straight.

"no problem, next time take the keyboard after the stand." i giggled.

he nodded and we walked over to josh's garage and set up tyler's keyboard.

.::::.

after we got into the grove of playing my phone rang.

"hello?" i answered.

"c-c-come h-ome." my mom slurred.

she's drunk. great. i rolled my eyes.

"okay. i'll be there soon."

i hung up and sighed. "sorry guys but my mom said to come home and you know how she will be. so i'll see you guys tomorrow at school."

"okay! by mars!" josh said.

"bye marley!" tyler said.

i grabbed my bag and everything worse i came with and left.

this will be interesting...

so i updated again lol but it's short. sorry! hoped you liked it!
