Felren attempted to creak open the door leading to the balcony where the strength gauntlets were. Upon slowly creaking the door open in the dead silent house, Felren had the gauntlets in his gaze. He tip toed towards them and held them in his hands with a strange ambition in mind. Suddenly he turned around and saw Melat standing in the hallway leading back to the bedrooms. Melat showed a look of fury he only gave to his most notorious enemies. This time he targeted his rage solely on Felren. Felren returned the look of anger with that of a look of no regrets. "Felren, do you intend to take those gauntlets from me"? Melat asked. "Yeah, I have to Melat". Felren said. "Then tell me, why.? Why when you already have a pair of strength gauntlets. You're gaining nothing from keeping them for yourself. How does this further your goal of saving Duln"? Melat asked. "You don't get it. I'm not keeping them for myself. I'm keeping them from you". Felren said with the same look of no hesitation or reluctance. "Then why do you wanna keep them from me? Why when they'd only help us out more"? Melat asked. "You're not gonna like the answer I have for you Melat". Felren warned. "Try me". Melat boasted. "I'm keeping them from you in case you either A. Try to leave here with them and leave us to deal with the threat in Duln or B. Use them to fight me". Felren explained. Melat then widened his eyes in surprise. He then narrowed them down to a suppressed combination of rage and disappointment. "So that's what you really think isn't it". Melat said. Suddenly the bedrooms emptied out with everyone walking out behind Melat as they all appeared curious about the dispute. "What's going on"? Array asked. Naytan then noticed Felren holding the gauntlets in his hands. "Wait, are those the Gauntlets I placed to signify a compromise"? Naytan asked. "They are". Felren confirmed. "But why"? Naytan asked. "Because he thinks I'm gonna abandon you guys and save my mom on my own. Or that I'll use them to fight Felren". Melat explained. "Look if this is all about the same dispute you two have been having since yesterday then lets all talk this out yet again". Eresil explained. "No, if he thinks I wanna fight him for the gauntlets, considering he's keeping them to himself pretty stingily, then I guess I have to satisfy him". Melat said. "What're you saying Melat"? Anita asked. "Are you gonna fight him"? Array asked. "Yes Melat, I'll fight you, for the gauntlets. Whoever wins gets them. And whoever wins, we move on with their goal in mind". Felren said. Suddenly the two started walking down the hallway where the other Brown Cloaks were as they tried to block them from moving on. "Guys please don't do this". Naytan begged. "We have to do this Naytan". Melat said as if all his emotion was drained from him. "It's the only way to settle this". Felren said in the same tone of voice as Melat. The two turned around and jumped off the balcony of the house and onto the wooden dock below. Felren pointed over to the shore of the lake where the grass and dirt were. "We'll fight there". Felren said. The two then started to walk across the bridge from the above ground village over the lake, to the shore.
The two were on the grassy area surrounded by water, and swampy marshlands. The rest of the Brown Cloaks watched in utter despair and sorrow including Regenri who seemed to regret him ever showing up at Marsh Village. Melat and Felren looked at each other remembering the moments of camaraderie and friendship they shared. The remembered the teamwork they displayed fighting off the Riders at Brawlers Pub, Felren being impressed with all of Melat's determination when fighting every opponent they've come across, and the moments when they first met and how they've matured and improved since that moment. Back in reality they decided to throw those moments aside and possibly away permanently. Felren then pulled out the dull, sword Melat had given him back at Archvil. However the sword was bent and ready to break into pieces. Felren then looked over at the sword and threw it on the ground between them, right next to where the gauntlets were. The two waited for one to make the first move as the sound of crickets chirping in the distance sounded. Melat then reminded himself of his goal of saving Chara as Felren reminded himself of having to save Duln. Then the two charged at each other after each performed Thick Skin. Upon reaching each other Melat had his left fist thrown out at Felren's right wrist which he used to block. Felren then started firing bullets from his left hand as Melat started running at immense speeds around him. Felren concentrated heavily on Melat's movements and remembered his fight with Lucius yesterday and how he even outmatched Melat in speed. He then started firing bullets at Melat who was being hit by them and was unable to dodge. Melat backed away and winded up his right fist. He threw out his fist as a giant gust of wind flew out of it hurling towards Felren who jumped out of the way. He then pulled out his crossbow and fired a bolt at Melat. Melat dodged by jumping to his left and charged at Felren with all his speed. Felren then moved to the left as well and held out his right hand. "Cannon ball". Felren yelled causing an explosion which knocked the two back. Melat was blown off his feet and into the water. Felren fell on his back with his hands on the grass as he gripped the dirt beneath him. Melat stood in the water which was up to his kneecaps. He then placed his left hand above the water and started to perform Watered Pores. Felren got up and noticed as well. "He knows Watered Pores, but who taught him"? Felren asked. He then looked over at Eresil who similarly to everyone else watching, was in utter disgust at the sight of Felren and Melat fighting each other. Felren then charged into the water as Melat finished pumping the water to his left arm and threw a large punch into Felren's face knocking him down as Felren applied Watered Pores to his arms much quicker then Melat did. The two then threw punches with their Water buffed arms creating a power struggle. The rest of the Brown Cloaks watched in despair knowing this fight wasn't going to end on a triumphant note.
