Chapter 5.2: Rumors

Arashi POV

It had been 2 weeks since Kenpachi and I had started this fake relationship, news of it spread like wildfire but Zero never gave up. At this point I practically live with Kenpachi and I hate to admit it but I think I'm starting to truly fall for him, he makes me feel safe, though I keep reminding myself he is just doing this because he feels bad for me. I looked around a bit as I walked around the squads delivering paperwork, every time I turn a corner I can hear people whispering. Most often than not it was about how crazy I was, not that I care. I made my way towards squad 10 to deliver the last of my paperwork when I was stopped by Rangiku. "Oh my, let me take that for you Arashi. You know you shouldn't be over working in your condition!" I raised an eyebrow as she took the papers, I tilted my head as I looked up at her. "My condition?" She simply smiled at me, resting her hand on my shoulder. "You don't have to hide it from me Arashi. Everyone knows you had an affair with Renji and got pregnant. I won't judge you, he was your first loved after all." I tensed, trying to blink away my surprise. "But... I'm not pregnant! Who told you that?" I didn't know how to feel other than confused and angry, the confusion was obvious on Rangiku's face. "I heard it from Shuhei, he said a bunch of guys were talking about it at the bar." I simply nodded and flash stepped all the way back to Squad 11, I went to the room I shared with Kenlachi and sat down on the bed.

Kenpachi POV

I had gone to get lunch with Yachiru, we had decided to go to a small restaurant. We were just going to pick up lunch and bring back something for Arashi, though a conversation at a nearby table caught my attention. Glancing over I see Sentaro telling some runts from Squad 3 about some "recent news" when Arashi's name came up I began watching them, something told me Yachiru was too. "Master Zero told us that girl with Zaraki Taicho has been sleeping with Fukutaicho Abarai. He said that was why she turned him down, apparently she's balancing an affair and a pregnancy." I watched the taller one tell Sentaro, the kid acted like Zero"s word was law. I clenched my fist as Sentaro shook his head, setting down his chopsticks. "Renji told me she was pregnant before she got with Zaraki, he said he slept with Rukia because the baby was really Kuchiki Taicho's." I left without lunch, I noticed Yachiru had already left. Most likely to tell Ikkaku, my main priority was to find Arashi. Surprisingly I made it back to the squad without getting lost, I made it just in time to see Ikkaku storm out.

Arashi POV

I lay in bed and stared at the ceiling, I overheard Yachiru telling dad about some other rumors. All I wanted was to get Zero off my back, now everyone thinks I'm a pregnant whore. I felt my eyes burn with tears, I just let them fall. To my surprise Kenny stormed into the room but stopped as he saw me, I watched him gently slide shut the door. "I guess you heard then?" I simply nodded, setting up I tried to wipe away the free falling tears. I suddenly felt myself being lifted and I tensed up, but once he set me on his lap I relaxed a bit and cried into his chest. "Listen here princess, everything is going to be fine. Something tells me your dad went to handle Renji, I'll deal with Zero. We all have your back, you're a member of Squad 11, you're a warrior. Now act like it." I couldn't help but smile, he could be such a loving heart ass. 'I agree with him brat, you know they are lying and so does he and that's all that matters.'

Ikkaku POV
I went straight the squad 6, I was going to tell Byakuya what Renji has been telling people. It was bad enough he cheated on my daughter, now he and some Noble prick were spreading rumors. It was near the end of the day so I knew Renji was at the bar, this gave me the perfect chance to speak to Byakuya. I knocked on the door to his office, receiving an immediate "come in." I open the door and stepped inside, looking straight at him. "Sorry to interrupt Kuchiki Taicho but there is something you need to know that your fukutaicho is telling people." This got his attention, I nearly smirked as he focused on me. "What has Renji been saying?" I crossed my arms and met his gaze, it was now or never. "Renji along with third seat Danae have been spreading rumors about my daughter. Apparently he told Sentaro Kotsubaki that he cheated on her with Rukia because you were sleeping with and impregnated Arashi. As you can imagine such rumors would destroy both your honor and that of my daughter." I smirked internally at his glare, I knew the honor card would work. "I see... I assure you I will handle fukutaicho Abarai, I give you my word that I will clear your daughter's name." I gave a nod and thanked him, I soon left with thoughts of revenge. I will teach Renji a lesson, as for this Zero guy I will leave him to Zaraki Taicho.
