Chapter 1

Well first of all, I will introduce myself. I'm Sophia Kleinenberg. I'm seventeen years old and I live in Amsterdam, or more I used to live in Amsterdam. My parents just decided that we're moving to Biarritz in two weeks. I don't even know where Biarritz is? I have to leave my life in Amsterdam behind me and start over. It's not that I'm having a lot of friends here though, but I have one best friend. His name is Dean and we're friends since we're four years old. Oh god, I'm going to miss him so much. We go to the same school and we tell each other everything. He really is my soulmate. I have one little brother, Sam, and one older brother, Adam. I'm not very close with Sam, but Adam and I are often together. We love to do things together, like going to the library or the cinema. Adam is a huge fan of EDM, I'm not really into that and I dont know much about DJ's.

I have to prepare myself for this huge step. I want to spend as much time as possible with Dean. I make a list with things I still wanna do here in Amsterdam including hanging out with Dean, buy a lot of things, go to my favorite spots and walk through the park.

Sunday 16 April,

We are leaving in one day. I'm so excited, because my dad showed me our new house and it looks pretty awesome. We live close to the ocean and we have a pool in our garden! I had an amazing last week here. I hung out with Dean a lot and he helped me packing my stuff. I feel super tired and decide to go to sleep because I have to wake up at 5:30 tomorrow morning. When I'm finally laying down in bed, I feel all those butterflies in my stomach. It really is gonna be big change.. and I'm drifting to sleep..

I feel dizzy when I wake up. Today is the big day. Dean is coming over to my house to say our last goodbye. He told me he's going to visit us over the summer. I can't wait to chill with him at the beach. I walk in my room for the last time. I look through my window and see the famous Amsterdam canals, I am going to miss this place. I hear my dad calling me "honey, we need to go now!" This is the end. I walk to the car and put my headphone on. I'm listening to my Ed Sheeran playlist. It's really calming. I soon fall asleep.

We drove for two days straight. As we arrive at our new home, I walk straight to my room. It has a balcony with an amazing view over the ocean. I see a group of surfers floating on the waves, I really wanna learn how to surf. I help my parents and unpack my stuff. I make my room cozy and it looks pretty cute. When I'm finally done with unpacking I fall asleep.
