Chapter 8

This was such an awesome night. My gaaawwwwdddd. I still can't believe it.

I take a hot shower and put on some chill clothes. When I'm finally laying comfy in my bed, I check my phone. I see a few missed calls from Dean and I'm definetely calling him back in a second. First I check my Instagram. I see a post from Martijn. My heart melts when I see it. It's the selfie we took in the ferris wheel with "Had a great time with this lovely girl :)". I read the comments:
"omggggg are you guys dating??", "wahhh who is she??", "i ship them together!!", "duuude she's hot", "who is she?? you deserve better bro", "omggg martin!!! are you guys dating????"

Martijn tagged me and I gained 400 followers. Whoa. I have no idea if I'm ready for this, but his post was so cute..

I put my phone away and close my eyes. I'm slowly drifting to sleep when a sound wakes me up. It's a message from Martijn.

M: heyy, are you still awake? S: hiii, yes :)
M: how are you?
S: im fine! i had a great time today! thank youuuu <3 how are you?
M: no problem, i loved it <3 im fine too
S: do you have any plans for tomorrow? :))
M: no, but we have surfclass tomorrow morning remember? ;)
S: oh yea.. im not sure if im going..
M: are you scared?
S: yes..
M: but im there, i can save you as many times as needed sooph :)
S: yes that's true :) i wanna hang out with you, but im not sure if im ready to surf again
M: don't worry we can do something else, and btw i wanna hang out with you tooo ;)
S: let's just meet up at surfclass and we'll see how it goes
M: awesome idea :) are you tired?
S: yeeyy, yes what about you?
M: me too, shall we go to sleep?
S: yes lets do that. goodnight Martijn <3 see you tomorrow morning
M: goodnight Sophia, can't wait xx

Now it's time to call Dean. I hope he's still awake though. He immediately answers the phone. We talk for 30 minutes and I tell him everything that happened here, but I leave the part about Martijn. He updates me about all the stuff that's going on in Amsterdam. When we're doing talking I put my phone away. What an awesome day. I'm happy that I talked to Dean again.

The next morning

My mom wakes me up. "Hhhh mom whyyyyy" I check the time, it's already 9:35 AM. Shit. Surfclass starts in 30 minutes and I have to walk 10 minutes to the beach. That leaves me 15 minutes to get ready. I hop into the shower and dress as fast as I can. I grab some breakfast and take it with me to eat while walking to the beach. I walk very fast to the beach. I just made it in time. I see the surfgroup gathering around the small wooden cottage. Martijn sees me and waves. I walk to him and greet him. "Hey". "Hey Sooph, how did you sleep?". "I slept fine and you? I say with a smile. "Fantastic". Our surfteachers starts explaining and we need to go into the water almost immediately. I feel scared, my stomach drops and I my whole body starts to feel weak. I grab Martijns hand and he looks at me. "Are you okay?" he asks concerned. "I don't know, I'm so scared". "Don't worry, I'm here". He guides me into water and doesn't let go of my hand.

We're sitting on our boards now. The waves are coming and I feel some panick rising. Calm down Sooph, don't be such a baby. You're going to do this, act like you're brave. So that's what I'm trying to do. I see the perfect big wave coming towards me. I need to get this one even though I'm scared as hell. I paddle as hard as I can and I get up. I'm standing on my board now!! I'm gliding on the wave. This is the best feeling ever. It feels like I'm floating on air, I'm one with the wave. I don't want this to end. The wave dies on the shore and I'm totally in shock. I hear people cheering. I look at my surfgroup and everyone is looking at me with big smiles. They're cheering for me.. Martijn paddles to me and gives me a hug. I feel his body against mine. "You freaking rocked that wave Sooph" I look at his beautiful eyes. I feel so much feelings. Our faces come closer and I close the gap between our lips. We kiss while we're floating in the ocean.
