Temptations (Edward Cullen love story)

Chapter 3

  "By the way". Hailey started as we neared my first class. "Sorry about my brother". I looked up from my schedule and just stared at her. Her brother? What was she even talking about.
   "I don't-"
   "The guy you bumped into. That was my brother". She cleared it up for me. I nodded my head. It seemed odd that he was her brother because he didn't look a thing like her.
   "He seemed really pissed when I bumped into him". I suggested as a few males walked passed us. All three of them winked at both me and Hailey and she just rolled her golden yellow eyes.
   "Don't worry about it Gabby. It wasn't your fault. He's just been a bit moody the past few days". She reassured me that it wasn't my fault, but no matter what I still felt like it was and I wanted to know why he was so angry.
   "Did something happen?" I asked facing her. Hailey shook her head and began to tap her heels.
   "I'm not really sure. If something did happen he's doing a pretty good job of keeping it to himself. He can be such a idiot sometimes". Hailey stated just as the bell for the first class of the day rang.
   "Well I better get to class. Don't want to be late on my first day". I stated. Hailey smiled.
   "No you don't. I'll see you later. It was nice to meet you Gabby". Hailey stated as she walked away in her perfect heels and as I entered my first class all I could hear behind me was the clicking of black heels against the concrete floor of my new school.

For my first day at a new school it wasn't so bad. In fact most of my teachers were decent and were impressed by the fact that I had taken so many AP level classes my sophomore year that they said that I could skip a few of the homework assignments and that made me quite happy.
As lunch time approached I had decided to just grab a soda and an orange and just sit outside near one of the trees in the back of the school. I wasn't much of a people person and I figured that not many people would be out here alone like me. As I sat my tray down on the cement blocks next to me I soon learned that I was wrong. That same boy that I had bumped into earlier, who was also Hailey's brother sat on the table near where I was now sitting and as soon as I saw him I wanted to walk away and find somewhere else to sit. But I also want to confront him and ask him why he was angry earlier, but I didn't think that was such a good idea. So I just quietly sat there and ate my orange.
When lunch was over I threw away my trash and as I walked back into the lunchroom I glanced over my shoulder at him and saw that he was smiling at me. I looked away and just rolled my eyes.

    "So how's your first day?" My dad asked me that evening at dinner. I stabbed my piece of meat with my fork and took a bit. Then I swallowed. "Fine". I stated not meeting his eyes. He nodded his head then finished his dinner and washed up his plate in the sink.
   "Hey dad".
    "What is it kiddo?"
   "Do you know any of the Cullen's?" I asked him.
   "Doctor Cullen is their adoptive dad and he's the best doctor that Forks has ever had. Why do you ask?" He questioned me as I stood up.
   "I just was curious". I lied somewhat. I was kind of curious about them, but not really to the point where I would go stalk them. That just seemed crazy to me.
    "People in this town like to talk. The Cullen's are a great family. There kids do all in school and Dr. Cullen is a great doctor. I just wish the people here would understand that". My dad stated. I nodded my head as he let out a sigh.
   "I have to go back down to the station for a few hours. You'll be okay on your own?" My dad said. I finished my plate and took it over to the sink.
   "Yeah. I just have some homework to do anyway". I replied back. He nodded his head and walked out of the kitchen.
When I heard the door shut behind him I washed up my plate and put it back into the cabinet. Then I went up the stairs to my small room. I pulled out my laptop from my school bag and opened another word document. I titled it and then I went to work typing up another poem.
After what seemed like only a few minutes I jumped up from my bed and realized that I had fallen asleep for almost six hours. I looked over at my clock and noticed that it was 3 in the morning. I let out a soft groan and rolled my eyes. Once again Gabby you managed to screw up your sleep schedule.
I shook my head and turned off my laptop. Then I went over to my desk and sat it down. Then I got into my bed and fell asleep for a second time that night.

I just love Hailey! She's going to be a great friend to Gabby and she is kinda like Alice, but Alice will show up later I promise! Next chapter is when Gabby gets introduced to Edward officially and I'm excited!
