Temptations (Edward Cullen love story)

Chapter 9

One rainy weekend afternoon I had found myself sitting outside on my backyard porch just doing some light reading when I heard a car pull up. It seemed rather odd to me that someone would be here at this time. No one, but my dad usually came to visit so when I saw Edward pop his head around the corner I just froze.
    "I should have knocked I'm sorry Gabby". He apologized before I could even ask him what he was doing here.
    "I umm...no it's okay, but um..what are you doing here exactly? I thought you said you had plans this weekend?" I questioned him as I crossed my arms over my chest. This was the first time that Edward or anybody from school, besides Bella had been over to our house and I was still at a lost for words as to why he was here.
    "Emmett decided to take Rose out for a picnic instead". He answered me. I raised an eyebrow at his statement.
    "It's wet and cold out. Are you sure it's a good idea for a picnic?"
He smiled. "Emmett is not one to stay inside when it's raining out and Rosalie doesn't mind it either".
    "Okay, but that still doesn't answer my question of why your here?"
     "Would you mind taking a walk with me?" He asked me just brushing my question of why he was here off to the wind. I sighed and grabbed my pull over hoodie from the chair.
     "How do I know that your not going to murder me Edward?" I asked him with a smile. He laughed and walked a bit faster then me as we walked further into the woods.
    "If I was going to I would have already done so". He replied back. I nodded my head. As I glanced down at my feet I let out a sigh. Man walking up all these small hills was a sure sign that I definitely needed to do more cardio workouts. When I glanced back up I saw that Edward had already made it up two hills.
    "How the hell did you get up there so fast?" I questioned him as it took me a few minutes to join back up with him.
    "Lots of practice". He slightly smiled.
    "Intense workouts I guess". I added. He smiled again and turned his attention to the cloudy gray sky. "First the cold hands now the super speed, Edward your one incredible person". I huffed out as I tried to lean up against a tree to catch my breath.
    "Gabby what comes to your mind when you think of a monster?" Edward asked me out of nowhere. I raised an eyebrow at his question.
    "You mean like the werewolf or Count Dracula?"
He smiled. "In a way yes".
    "Well to be honest I've always been afraid of monsters. Even the ones that aren't real. And I guess you could use the term monster to describe anyone that hurts someone else for their own game, but what does this have to do with anything?" I answered him. Edward sighed and turned his body away from me.
    "What if I told you that I was a monster?" Edward stated firm. Him, a monster? That didn't make any sense? How could Edward be a monster when he was so kind to everyone including me, the new girl. None what he was saying was adding up.
    "Edward I don't think your a monster-"
    "I've done some horrible things Gabby. That I'm not proud of". He replied.
    "We all do,believe me I know, but that doesn't make you a monster it makes you human". I replied. As I mentioned the word human Edward flinched and couldn't figure out why.
   "What time is your father supposed to be home?" He asked me.
   "Pretty late tonight why?"
   "There's something I want to show you, but can you promise me once I do you will let me explain it?" He asked of me. I slowly nodded my head.
    "Okay sure".
He smiled and started to walk towards my house. "Thank you Gabby". He replied as I started to follow him out of the woods.

"So where are you taking me exactly?" I questioned Edward as we drove down the road away from my piece of land.
    "To a place where you can see the real me". He answered. What? See the real him? Edward was starting to scare me and part of me wanted to have him take me back home, the other part of me wanted to see what he meant by the real me.
    "I won't hurt you Gabby". He glanced over me. "I promise". I didn't know what happened or what came over me, but I knew that I could trust him and I knew that he wouldn't hurt me.
   "Okay. I guess I trust you, but just so we're clear if I end up dead because of you I'm so going to come back and haunt you". I stated. Edward cracked out laugh and I smiled.
   "Deal". He replied as we pulled up to a small flowery meadow. I glanced out the window at it and continued to look at it as I got out of his car. I made my way towards the small meadow and as I got up closer to it I realized that there was a huge pocket of sunlight shining right down onto it.
    "Edward what does this meadow have to do with...." my voice trailed off as I glanced back at a glowing Edward. I let out a gasp and pretty much fell over. Edward Cullen was literally a walking diamond as soon as he touched the sunlight and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
    "Gabby this who I am". He whispered as he walked closer to me. I took a few steps back and tried to get up, but such luck. What the hell was he? He wasn't human thats for sure, but he was something else....I just didn't know what.
    "Who you are? What the hell are you Edward?" I demanded from him. "Cause from where I'm sitting you look like your made up of a million diamonds".
    "If I tell you Gabby promise me you won't run away?" Edward begged of me. I slowly sat up from the field of flowers. This was crazy. I couldn't promise him that. My life was in danger and I didn't know why....and yet a part of me wanted to promise him that.
    "Fine". I stepped forward. Inching my way closer to what or who could possibly be a killer. "I won't run, but I swear to god Edward if your a sex offender I will run like hell".
He smiled slightly putting me on edge a little. "I can promise you I'm no sex offender, but I am dangerous..."
    "Dangerous how?" I questioned him. He sighed and zoomed across he field to the other side like it was nothing and it looked as though he had just teleported there. Then he ripped off a huge branch from a near by tree that even a huge muscular man couldn't lift and he chucked it at my feet. I just stared at him blankly. What the hell was he?
   "Your fast..."
   "I know". He stated.
   "Like really fast. I didn't see you get to the other side and your incredibly strong! How? Why? I-"
    "Vampire". As that word left his lips I couldn't breath. He was a vampire? That didn't make any sense. Vampires weren't real! No supernatural creature was real! They were all fake. Just made up to scare little kids and yet.....Edward had unnatural super strength and speed. Those things were not possible so vampires being real....could be possible...was possible. I ran my fingers through my long black hair and looked back at him.
    "Vampire.....as in you drink..."
    "Blood". His voice echoed across the field. I grabbed onto my throat as he rushed over to me.
    "But how can you drink blood if your surrounded by-"
     "We don't". He stated.
      "Then.."
He put his hand over my mine. "My family drinks animal blood. We don't want to be monsters so we drink animal blood instead". He informed me. I let out a sigh and took my hand off my throat.
    "Does it....fill you?"
Edward let out a sigh. "It keeps our thirst at bay, but it doesn't satisfy us as human blood does". He replied.
    "Bella knows doesn't she..? You told her, didn't you?". Edward nodded his head.
     "Did she freak out or was she more calm about it..."
    "She figured it out before I could tell her, but she didn't let that stop her from falling in love with me...or so I thought she did..." I sighed and put a hand on his shoulder.
     "She missed out on a really great guy Edward. You know that right?" I smiled at him. Edward smiled back.
    "I don't-"
    "Look Edward you might not think of yourself as a good guy because of the whole I'm a vampire and I could kill you thing, but I do. You were kind to me before I knew all this and...though it does scare me a bit what you are it doesn't change that fact that your still you". I stated to him.
   "I wouldn't do anything to hurt you on purpose Gabby. I can promise you that". He replied in a serious tone. I nodded my head.
   "I know you won't". I said. "But I do have one question?"
    "Ask me anything".
    "You didn't burn in the sunlight like a normal vampire, like Dracula. You sparkled instead. Does that mean you don't sleep in covens or-"
    "If I answer just one question you will still have plenty more. I'll make a deal with you Gabby". Edward replied as I crossed my arms over my chest.
    "Okay. What's the deal?"
    "For every question you have about my lifestyle I will ask you one in return". He suggested.
    "Okay deal". I replied. He smiled as we neared his car. "Great then I'll pick you up at 10 tomorrow". He stated.
I raised an eyebrow at him. "Pick me up for what?"
     "To meet the rest of my family of course".

Oh man he finally told her that he is a vampire! And now there relationship can start to bloom from there! I'm so excited!
