"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" My mom shrieks. It's the next morning before school and me and Zach are standing in the kitchen with my furious parents. We just told them about our summer plans and to say they weren't taking it well would be an understatement.

"You don't seem to understand that I'm not asking for your permission," I inform her calmly. She lets out an angry grunt.

"You don't seem to understand that we are your parents and we are not letting you live with him," she retorts.

"Why not? Chances are we're getting married someday anyway." Zach tries to speak in a respectful tone but he ends up smirking at the end.

I bite my lip to try and contain my laughter. My mother's face is bright red now.

"Don't you dare speak to me that way, Zachary," my mother shouts at him. Zach doesn't even flinch.

"I think letting her go to Miami would actually be a great opportunity for her," my dad interjects suddenly.

My mom whips around to face him. "Are you insane?!" She cries to him.

My dad just shrugs. "She needs to learn how to live on her own sometime doesn't she? I say we let her go," my dad explains calmly to my mom. My infuriated mother, who clearly can't take it anymore, storms out of the room. We wait for a door to slam upstairs before we say anything else.

"You should be getting to school now," my dad says breaking the silence. "You can thank me later."

I drop Zach's hand and rush over to my dad. I give him a huge hug.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I gush. My dad chuckles. I kiss him on the cheek and then turn back to Zach.

"Have fun at school!" My dad calls after us as we walk out the door.

As soon as we reach the car, Zach pushes me up against the door and kisses me.

"This is going to be your life now," he smirks.

I roll my eyes. "I can't wait."

Every morning before school, me, Zach, Victoria, Leah and Rob met in the cafeteria. Once we were all there, we would usually wander around the school until the homeroom bell rang. Zach's locker is only a few lockers away from mine so we always walk into the lunchroom together. But when we entered the cafeteria, things were different. Victoria was hysterical crying and Rob was nowhere in sight. I dropped Zach's hand and embraced Victoria.

"Vic, what happened?" I asked as I rubbed her back soothingly.

"R-Rob... d-dumped... m-me," she stammered in between sobs.

"Oh my god when?" I questioned her I could feel anger rising up in me.

"J-just... n-now," she managed. And then she started crying even harder. Zach's eyes grew wide and he clenched his fist. "Do you need me punch that asshole?" He asked her clearly infuriated.

Victoria shook her head. "Don't," was all she could say.

I turned to Zach and mouthed let it go. Zach just glared at me for a second before turning back to Victoria. He crossed his arms over his chest. There was a hard, angry expression on his face. I rolled my eyes. Zach always wanted to be the hero and when someone tried to stop him, he got mad.

"Zach, would you mind leaving the girls alone to talk?" Leah asked sweetly.

Zach shrugged. "Sure. Whatever," he muttered as he walked away.

"Don't do anything to Rob!" I called after him but he ignored me. I sighed deeply and leaned against the wall.

"You okay?" Leah mouthed to me.
