We hung out in the studio for a little while longer. We let Jake and Joey work as we sat and talked quietly on the couch. At one point, Leah and Kevin disappeared without a word. They just got up and left and Victoria and I didn't even question them.
They came a little while later as Jake was finishing up.
"Where have you been?" I questioned with a smirk. Leah's face turned bright red and glanced at Kevin hopefully.
"Nowhere," he muttered nonchalantly. But he was blushing too as he intertwined his fingers with Leah's.
I smiled genuinely at her. I was really happy for her. This was exactly what she needed to distract herself from Austin. I just hope Austin doesn't react the same way Zach did.
"You ready to go babe?" Jake asked me. I nodded as he took my hand in his.
"We should all hang out," Joey suggested.
"I'm down," Kevin agreed and Leah said she'll do whatever.
"Actually..." Victoria interjected. We all looked over expectantly.
"I kind of already have plans," she admitted. When no one said anything, she added, "with Rob."
"OH MY GOD VICTORIA!" Leah exclaimed.
"That's amazing!" I gushed.
Victoria flashed a shy smile. "Thanks, guys."
I couldn't stop myself from smiling widely. I always knew they would get back together. They were perfect for each other.
We talked a little while longer and figured out our game plan. We decided to all go over to Foolish 4's house to get my things then we would all go back to Jake's apartment to chill. We piled into the cars we came here in an began the short drive to the house. Once we arrived, we decided we shouldn't all go in. Victoria texted Rob and he let me, Leah and Kevin inside. Kevin insisted on coming in with us in case any of the boys *cough cough* Zach Dorsey *cough cough* decided to freak out again.
Victoria and I hurried up to Zach's bedroom to quickly gather my things. Rob followed closely behind, acting like a bodyguard. I was beyond grateful for that right now. When we opened the door, I was relieved that Zach wasn't in there. But another part of me was a little disappointed. Why? I could not even begin to tell you.
"Where's Zach?" I asked cautiously. I didn't want to make it seem like I wanted him to be here. Because I didn't. Right?
"Him and Alex went out somewhere," Rob answered nonchalantly. I wanted to ask where but I figured that was pushing it.
It only took us a few minutes to pack everything up. As we began to walk back down the steps we heard:
"FUCK YOU KEVIN!"
The voice sounded like Austin but I was taken aback by his harshness. Austin was such a laidback guy so to hear him scream something like that was pretty out of character.
"Dude, what are you talking about?" Kevin questioned genuinely confused.
"I KNOW WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DOING WITH MY GIRL," Austin screamed as we reached the bottom of the steps. A strange look passed over Leah's face when Austin called her my girl. That was something no one was expecting. "YOU KNOW HER FOR FIVE MINUTES AND YOU'RE ALL LIKE UGH LEAH AW YEAH IN THE BACK OF THE STUDIO. WELL YA KNOW WHAT? I'VE BEEN IN LOVE WITH LEAH MY WHOLE LIFE AND I HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT TREAT HER LIKE THE PRINCESS SHE IS. I KNOW YOU'RE JUST USING HER"
We all fell silent. No one had any idea what to say. Not Kevin and definitely not Leah. I knew undoubtedly that Austin was on the verge of tears and I felt terrible for him. He loves Leah more than anything and I know how much seeing her with another guy tears him apart.
"I'm sorry Austin," Leah said quietly after a while.
All he could do was nod before he turned around and disappeared into the kitchen.
Kevin turned to Leah with a guilty look on his face. "Leah, I had no idea..."
Leah shook her head furiously and I could tell she was holding back tears too. "It's not your fault," she insisted.
Another silence washed over us. I was just about to say we should probably go when I heard shouting outside. Shouting that could only mean one thing.
I don't think I ever ran so fast in my life.
