The remainder of our time in the studio had been filled with laughter and not much work getting done. We wrapped up at around 2 am and said our goodbyes. Jake seemed to be confused in the parking lot when he didn't see my car.

"Did you walk here?" He asked incredulously.

"Ran, actually," I smirked. He laughed and kissed my head.

"You're adorable," he said into my hair. He lead me to his car and opened the passenger door for me to get in. I slipped inside as he shut the door behind me. He climbed into the driver's seat and started the car.

"You know we don't have to wait until we get home," I told him flirtatiously as I reached out my hand to smooth his hair. He smirked slightly as I leaned over to his side and kissed his cheek. He turned his head to put his lips on mine. He broke apart reluctantly and gave me a sheepish grin.

"I really need to drive home," he protested.

I laughed as I leaned back in my seat but my hand remained on the back of his neck.

He pulled out of the studio parking lot and I decided to try something as a test to see how far he would let me go. I slid my touch down to his jeans and rested my hand on his thigh. He looked down for a moment and smirked at me.

"You really can't wait can you?" He commented with a laugh. I smiled at the cuteness of his laugh. As we sat in a comfortable silence on the short drive to Jake's apartment and I couldn't help but wonder about Madi. It was weird, how I was about to sleep with another guy and I thought about his ex-girlfriend instead of my current boyfriend.

But I remembered what I had said to Madi in the restaurant bathroom and this caused me to remove my touch from Jake's leg and I rested my hands in my lap. I had promised Madi that I would never date Jake. Okay, technically we weren't dating; I hadn't broken up with Zach yet. But this was just as bad. Madi was the whole reason I knew Jake. This wasn't fair to her.

"Jake," I muttered. He glanced over at me and sighed.

"You feel guilty don't you," he inquired.

"Yeah, I do," I admitted. "I promised Madi that I wouldn't go out with you..."

"Woah, hold up," he cut me off. "You feel more guilty about doing this because of my ex-girlfriend as opposed to the boyfriend that you haven't broken up with yet?"

I sighed deeply. "I made a promise to her. I'm breaking the girl code."

Now it was Jake's turn to sigh. "I could take you home..."

"No!" I shouted a bit more aggressively than I meant to. "I mean, no it's fine."

"A-are you sure?" Jake asked cautiously.

"Yes," I told him firmly. "I want to be with you."

We arrived at his apartment then and we both climbed out of the car wordlessly.

"Maybe we could just cuddle?" I suggested, I said having sudden regrets.

"Okay, Sam. I can't figure you out. I know this is hard for you and I know you feel bad, but I'm not spending the night with you if you're just going to go crawling back Zach to tomorrow."

I was honestly speechless. I stared into Jake's brown eyes, which were usually warm and inviting but instead, he looked angry and even a little hurt. A silent tear fell from my eye and Jake's eyes softened instantly.

"Babe," he walked towards me slowly as steady tears fell from my eyes. "I'm sorry I yelled I just need to know what you want."

"You," I said in a small voice.
