Ben 10, Multiverse Academy: Book 1, Aliens In Crazy Land

Suspicion.....

"Ben? Ben? Hello? Aren't you going to get to sleep?"

Ben, Samantha, and Carter were back in the living room of their dorm house. While Samantha and Carter had already changed into their pajamas (Samantha's pjs being covered with flame designs much like her day wear), while Ben was still in his normal clothes, looking over the old map he had borrowed from the library.

"There's just something I have to check." said Ben eyeing over the ruins that marked the Prime Wolves's Den. "Something about this is just bugging me."

Samantha shook her head and sighed. "Honestly Ben, if you studied this much for tests then you would be the top student. Just give it a rest already, Lilly said that she would help us investigate in the morning, so there's no use tiring yourself out now!"

"Whampire's nocturnal...." said Ben wonderingly looking at the Omnitrix. "If I turned into him....would I stay awake longer?"

"Ben, as much as I would love to see you turn into an awesome vampire alien." said Carter. "I have to agree with my sis on this one...you need sleep dude."

"The shower's all ready for you when you come to your senses." said Samantha stretching her arms. "In the mean time, I'm going to get some sleep."

"Hey Sis....." said Carter yawning as he trecked after Samantha. "W-wait up....."

"Hmmmm...." said Ben looking at the wolf icon on the map. "Something about this....is just giving me the jeebers. Why would a teacher kidnap students and bring them here? And considering this would be a class full of superheroes......how would he or she capture em in the first place........?"

Suddenly there was a knocking at the door. Ben looked at the clock, 10:30....who would be come calling at this hour? Could be Brook and his gang coming to play another prank?

Ben got up from his seat on the couch and kept the Omnitrix active in case he needed to go alien on the fly. Ben moved over to the door cautiously and opened it.....however, it wasn't whom he expected.

Standing outside in the cold, brisk, night air, was a tall man in a dark black tuxedo. He had long matted hair and his iris's glowed red. His pupils were slits and their seemed to be an ancientness around him despite the fact that he looked only around 25.

"Greetings......I take it you are Mr. Ben Tennyson.....ability name: Omnitrix?" said the man in a smooth voice.

"Uhhhh..........Yeah?" said Ben a little weirded out by this encounter. "Who wants to know?"

"I am Mortis.....your assistant field training instructor." said the man. "I thought you should know that you and your classmates are supposed to report to behind the school after lunch at 2:30 sharp for our first field training class........I thought I would alert everyone personally.....as it is such a beautiful night."

"Uhhhh......okaaaay?" said Ben tilting his head. "I thought all field mission stuff was cancelled because of.........stuff."

"Oh, you need not worry about that anymore." said Mortis. "I have...taken care...of that little situation."

Ben took a few steps back, suddenly feeling a little uncomfortable. "Th-thanks for letting me know...I'll be sure to tell my roommates.....thanks!!"

Ben shut the door and peered through the peephole on the front. He could see Mortis leaving, but not before he gave the door a strange look, as if he knew Ben was still watching.

Ben turned the dial on his Omnitrix until he reached what he was looking for. He then turned into a phantom/ghost like alien with a wispy tail, black lined folds in it's skin and a green eye in the center of it's head. It had  chains on it's body as well as some metal braces on it's arms and tail. (I'm using the omniverse design for Ghostfreak because in this world Zs'Skayr still dwells in the Omnitrix...the chains are supposed to keep Ghostfreak under Ben's control until Zs'Skayr's persona can be removed by Azmuth...they do not hinder Ghostfreak's normal powers at all)
