Chapter 5: Kiran? What's Wrong?

~Beta Kiran's POV~

Silence. That's what it's like between me and Kai. Kai gave Noah another break. Much to Noah's distaste. So Scott, another Patrol wolf, is guarding him. Except Scott is standing outside the door, looking at the hallways. Not inside looking at us. Needless to say me and Kai aren't on good terms right now.

<Flashback>

"Hey man." Kai said.
"Hi. What's up?" I asked.
"Me and Noah just had some fun, if you catch my drift." Kai said.
"He wouldn't." I said.
"Alright, I seduced him. He's not easy to seduce either. But damn he is good." Kai said.
What is with him? If he's trying to make me jealous, it's working.
"He does me just right. Not fast but not slow." Kai said.
I started growling. My wolf hating this. He's supposed to do this with me. Not Kai. I need to tell Noah he's my mate. Faster than I wanted too.
"Shut up." I growled.
"Jealous? You should be. Your mate loves my body. He'll be disgusted by yours." Kai said.

My body. It's all scars. It reminds me oh how shitty of a person I fucking am.
"He'll see all those scars and come immediately running back to me. And we'll make love all night long. I'll make sure we're extra loud, so you can hear. So you can wish Noah was doing you instead of me." Kai said.
I need to get out of my room, away from him. Or I'll end up doing something I regret.
"Shut. The. Fuck. Up!" I shouted.
Kai grabbed the back of my neck, choking me. His eyes black as coal. His wolf surfacing.
"You don't talk to me like that, Beta. I'll force you into submission." Kai said.
Kai chuckled darkly.
"You won't know what hit you, pup." His wolf said.
His grip got tighter. I could see black dots clouding my vision.
"NOAH!" I shouted through mindlink.
God, I hope it reaches him.

My wish was granted because my bedroom door slammed wide open. Noah saw and snarled. His wolf was on edge.
"Let my mate GO!" Noah shouted.
Or his wolf did. He knows? How?
"Kiran is just trying to trick you into thinking you're his mate." Kai said.
"Bullshit! I AM his mate!" Noah shouted.
Kai was inserting his claws into my neck. I'm supposed to be the strong one, guess not.

I blacked out. My last sight was seeing Noah running at me, tears in his eyes.

<Flashback Over>

So me and Kai aren't on good terms, as I've said. A Beta and Alpha's bond is the strongest bond imaginable. It's stronger than any mate bond. The Alpha has to trust his Beta enough to even give the Beta the title. But when the Aloha betrays the Beta, the bond diminishes quickly. And our bond is deteriorating at a rapid rate. And we both know it.
"Kiran?" Kai asked.
I ignored him. The choking marks plus the marks from his claws on my neck from two days ago, they're only gonna add to my scarred body. And he can see them fully.
"Kiran?" Kai asked again.
Nothing outta me.
"Beta Kiran?" Kai said.
That made my wolf perk up. He likes hearing the stupid ass Alpha, our ex-friend, calling me by my title. It makes him feel superior. Since Kai never a calls me by my title. Just my regular name.
"What?" I growled.
"I'm sorry. I never should've-" Kai began.
"You shouldn't have. But you did. And you can't take it back. The marks you made will always be a reminder of how you betrayed me. I'll never forgive you for that." I said.
Kai sighed.
"Never?" Kai asked.
"Not when pigs fly. Not even if hell freezes over. Get used to it, jackass." I said.
Kai sighed heavily. He knew there was noting he could do to fix the mess he created. Even the pack didn't feel safe with him as Alpha. And the pack is supposed to put their complete trust in you. But you fuck with the Beta and it's over.
"Kiran, please... I didn't mean-" He began.
"Shut up. Just SHUT UP!" I shouted.
Noah barged in the door. In wolf form, no less. His Lead Patrol rank on high alert. He growled as he stared the both of us down. His ears erect, incisors showing, fur bristled, head bent down, eyes narrowed. He's pissed. And who's his anger directed at?
