I flop down on the hotel bed and kick my shoes off. "Sweetheart, we are going to go out to eat. Do you care to join?" Dad asks.
"Nope, I'm perfectly fine here." I tell him.
"We love you, Sarai." Mom says before they leave the suite.
I haven't been speaking to my parents since the incident that happened at dinner on Friday. They are just so mean and nasty to people for no reason. I understand their beliefs, but I just don't agree with them.
Whatever. I don't even wanna think about Friday. I'm just going to sit back and relax. I have a week off from school and all of life's problems. I'm going to nap.
Nap. Nap. Nap.

My eyes snap open and I immediately sit up as my ring tone blasts. I grab it and check the caller I.D. It's an unknown number so I send it to voicemail.A few seconds later the same unknown number calls back. I exhale deeply and answer the phone.
"Hello?" I answer with a hint of attitude.
"Is this Sarai Douglas?"
"Yes, who is this?"
"I'm a nurse down at the county hospital. Your parents were in an accident and this is the one of the two numbers listed on their emergency contact sheet."
"W-What kind of accident?"
"Please just come down to the hospital so we can talk."
I hang up the phone and grab my car keys. What kind of accident? Why wasn't the nurse telling me anything?

*"I'm sorry, but your mother didn't make it. She was killed on impact." The doctor explains.
"And my father?"
"He's dead too. He died on the operating table."
I feel as my chest is caving in. The doctor goes on to say some more non important details. I take off running down the hallway.
I run and run trying to free my mind of the pain. My feet move as fast as they can until I come in contact with someone.
A boy, much taller than I am stares at me with concern in his eyes. "Are you okay?" He asks.
"My parents are dead." I throw myself into him and he wraps his arms around me as I cry into the kindest stranger.
"I would say everything will be alright, but the truth is that I have no idea." He says honestly.
"Thy are the only family I had. We had nobody, but ourselves." I cry.
"There, there. Don't worry about that." He says.
"Jesus, let's go!" A woman yells.
The boy steps away from me and glares at the woman. I look at her as well. She has short blonde hair and looks a little tomboyish. "What's going on bud? You need to go see your doctor." She tells him.
"I was comforting...."
It was then that I realized I never gave him my name and technically he didn't give me his either. "Sarai."

Fiksi PenggemarI lay back against the pillows and sigh. Today is the day we adopted the twins. It's a special day that we celebrate every year as we do for Callie's adoption day and for Jude's adoption day, but there is more to this day. Not only is this the day...
